With that, she walks right out the door, leaving me dumbfounded.
“Cara, you stay your ass away from my sweet Maddy. I’m starting to think your crazy is contagious,” Thor mutters, following Alice out of the house.
A few of the brothers chuckle and nod in agreement. Cara rolls her eyes before giving the finger to everyone in the room.
“Focus on your family for right now, Red. When the time comes, we’ll have Declan, Vincent, Chloe, and Jeffery waiting for you,” Viper tells me.
My lips sting as they stretch into a smile.
Oh, do I have plans for every single one of them. They’re going to regret the day they came for my family. Chloe might think her being the mother of my children will hold some weight around here, but it doesn’t. Her ass is taking a dirt nap with the rest of them.
She put our kids in danger, and for what?
There isn’t an excuse.
Exiting the house, I catch up with Alice and wrap my arms around her from behind. “I love you, kitten.”
Turning in my arms, she throws hers around my neck. “I love you, too.”
Yup. She’s mine. Nothing and no one will ever change that.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
BIG RED
“Do you have to go?” Alice looks up at me with a slight pout. Wrapping my arms around her, I bring my lips down on hers.
“I’ll be right back, kitten. I don’t want to leave, but I have to go.”
Alice swallows and nods her head. She knows what I am getting ready to do. I don’t have to say it. It’s obvious. Jeffery, Chloe, and the Langley brothers have to go.
For the past few days, Alice and I have been locked in the house with the kids. I needed to pour love and attention into Cindy and Colt. After what Chloe put them through, they had been traumatized. Colt couldn’t even sleep through the night without a nightmare the first few days.
Cindy has been clinging to me and Alice as if she would blink and we would disappear. She told me a little about what went down when Chloe took them. I have never been prouder that my baby knew how to defend herself. But she shouldn’t have needed to, especially against her own damn mother.
After learning that Chloe tried taking Colt out of the room to leave Cindy alone with Jeffery, I knew Cara had been right withher assumptions. Every time my mind even drifts to whatcouldhave happened to Cindy, I can barely control my emotions.
Knowing that Chloe came here with the intention of letting Jeffery have Cindy makes me sick to my stomach. She will die tonight. That’s the only way I'll be able to rest easy from here on out.
She’s a threat to my kids, and I plan to eliminate it.
“I know. I’m just going to miss you.” I chuckle while rubbing her belly. Spending the past few days in the house together has made both of us clingy.
Alice sighs and snuggles into my side, relaxing as I continue to rub her. We went to the clubhouse the next morning after the kidnapping to have Doc check her over. I tried to get Alice to go as soon as we got back, but she wouldn’t hear it. She wanted to check on the kids and nobody could tell her anything different.
Doc did an ultrasound and allowed us to hear the baby’s heartbeat. Doc assured us everything seemed fine, and we had nothing to worry about. He also let us know that Alice was approaching eleven weeks. From his calculations, it seems I got Alice pregnant the first night.
When we left, I felt like for the first time in my life, I was completely happy. I just had to get rid of a few people, and everything would be perfect. I plan on doing that tonight.
Rising out of the bed, I grab my cut and put it on. “I’ll be back. I love you.” I walk back over to the bed, lean down, and peck her lips a few times.
“I love you, too. Make sure it hurts for Declan.”
She lies back down and focuses her attention on the television. I chortle as I walk out of the room. I swear those pregnancy hormones have turned my woman into a little rebel.
I lock up the house, mount my bike, and ride to the front of the clubhouse. Viper sent everyone a text and told us to meet here instead of the basement. When I pull up in front of theclubhouse, everyone is already waiting. I park my bike and head over to the group.
“How’re the kids?” Viper asks me.
