Before I can even get on her ass for disrespecting Alice, I’m shoved backward. Alice steps toe-to-toe with Chloe, fist balled tightly at her sides.

“Now, I wasn’t going to address you at all. But somehow, you thought calling me out my name was the route to take. Whatever issues you have with Red, keep them there. Because no matter the amount of love I have for Cindy and Colt, that won't stop me from laying your ass out if you come at me again. You’re a sorry excuse for a mother. Jealous of a relationship between a father and his children. Now, if this is about the children, then let it be that, but if this is about that man behind me, you can lose that thought right now. He’s mine.”

Not going to lie. My dick pricks up at hearing her stake her claim on me. I want to bend her ass over my desk and make her tell me over and over how I’m hers.

Chloe's mouth drops open after Alice's little speech. I’m guessing because Alice exposed her for all her filth. A few nights ago, I allowed Alice to read the letter Chloe had written to me when she had left. To say she was pissed when she finished reading it would be an understatement. So, I’m not the least bit shocked that Alice looks ready to rip Chloe’s head off.

“Are you going to let her talk to me like that?” Chloe shrieks at me.

“Sure am.” I grin while shrugging my shoulders. The guys try to hide their laughs, but Chains fails miserably.

“This isn’t over! You’ll be hearing from my lawyer! I have rights to my kids!” she screams before turning on her heels.

I start to chase after her, but Bear stops me. “Those are my kids. I’ll be damned if she tries taking them away. Let me go!”

Rage flows through me like hot lava just thinking of her taking my kids away. I don’t like the idea of holding the fate of where my children will lay their heads in the hands of a stranger.

Alice comes up, palming my face, making my anger simmer instantly. “Red, she walked out of those kids' lives for six years. No judge is going to rip those kids from you. They are safe, happy, and well taken care of. That's the only thing that matters.”

Bear releases me when he feels my body finally relaxed. Alice wraps her arms around my neck, and I hold her close. I’ve never been able to calm down so quickly. This further proved to me that Alice is meant to be mine.

“What kind of voodoo magic did you work on him?” Diablo asks, baffled.

Everyone laughs, and Alice shakes her head with a smirk. Kissing her forehead, I grab my keys from my pocket and lock my office door.

“Come on, kitten, let's head home early today.”

She nods, grabs my hand, and allows me to take her away.

I don’t believe a judge would take my children away from me, but my being a biker sets the tone. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know two things for sure. One, I’m not losing my kids. Two, Alice is mine. Whoever tries to take them from me has to go.

Chapter Sixteen

ALICE

My nerves are on edge today. I have mediation with Declan regarding our divorce. Although Michael, my lawyer, told me this should be a quick process since I’m not asking for anything, I just know Declan will try to drag this out.

I haven’t seen him since he popped up on Red and me in the parking lot. That rattles me even more. I can't help but feel like he’s planning something. Whatever he’s up to I won't make it easy on him. I’ll make sure anytime I leave these gates, I’m not alone.

Speaking of exes, we haven’t heard a peep from Chloe since she threatened to take Red to court for custody a few days ago. Red moods have been up and down. He hasn’t treated me negatively for it, but he’s been super quiet and reserved.

I know he’s scared of some judge ripping his kids away. I just can’t see that happening. He’s a great father, and at the end of the day, that’s the only thing that matters.

The front doorbell rings, so I grab my purse and answer the door. Red has his hand stretched out for me. “You ready?”

Taking a deep breath, I nod before grabbing his hand. Facing Declan is the last thing I want to do. He’s never hit me in front of someone other than his family, but then again, he’s never lostme, either. He could be completely unhinged today. The only thing that brings me solace is the fact that Red will be there.

He won't be allowed in the room, but he let me know he would be in the hallway if I needed him. I know that if Declan does try something, he’ll end up with more than just a broken arm.

“Everything is going to be okay.” Red palms my face, pecking my lips a few times. That little cocoon of safety wraps around me, making me melt against him.

“With you by my side, I know it will be.”

He smiles against my lips before leading me to his truck. Red holds my hand the entire drive. When we pulled up to the courthouse, I waited until Red got out and opened my door for me. I tried letting myself out a few times, and each time, he scolded me. I must say I love being treated like a queen. The only other man who ever treated me with this amount of love and care was my father. I know if he had ever had the chance to meet Red, he would have loved him for me.

As we approach the courthouse's front doors, I see Micheal waiting for me.

“Good afternoon, Alice. How are you?” Michael extends his hand.
