“I’ll talk to her, Smoke. You did the right thing. I know she’s pissed but, honestly, what could she have done other than make herself sick.” I walk past him and head for my mom’s room. When I open the door, I can see just how much she’s been in here worrying herself to death. When my mom looks up and sees me, her shoulders shake as she sobs into her hands.
Rushing forward, I gently hug her. She’s still recovering and she’s very fragile. “Mama, I’m okay. Cam found me just in time.” Mom starts shaking her head, smoothing her hands over the bandages on my arms.
“Oh, yeah? Then what is this, Bianca?” she says, pointing to my bandages. “We have to get out of here, if these are the kind of messes we’ll be pulled into.”
I rear back and look at my mom in confusion. She probably didn’t even give Smoke a chance to explain the situation. “Mom, this wasn’t anyone’s fault. This had nothing to do with the MC.” Mom tilts her head in confusion, so I explain everything to her.
When I’m done, she shakes her head with a sigh. “I owe Smoke an apology.”
“Yeah. You do. I’m fine, okay?” she nods.
I get up and walk toward the door. Before I leave, I turn around with a raise brow at my mom. “I’ll make sure to send Smoke in for his apology.” She snorts and mutters an okay. Coming down the stairs, I can see Smoke waiting and I motion my hand, telling him to go up. He kisses my forehead and rushes up the stairs. When I walk into the living room, I see Sara and Sofia sitting on the couch.
Cam walks over and pulls me to him. “I’ll be back. My sisters are going to sit here with you until I come back.”
I automatically know he’s going to wherever they have Finn. “I know you can’t tell me anything but promise me I won’t lose you because of what you’re about to do,” I whisper to him. Cameron eyes widen with shock. “Babe, I wasn’t born yesterday and, honestly, I hope you make it hurt. But I don’t want to lose you to prison.”
Cam’s eyes soften and he kisses my forehead. “Promise,” he whispers. Cam nods to his sisters and walks out the door. I take a seat on the couch and Sofia and Sara are looking at me with shocked expressions.
“What?” I ask them.
“You just took that way better than we thought you would,” Sara says.
I mean I couldn’t personally kill someone, but these circumstances are different. Still, I have to ask the burning question. “Do the guys handle their own situations often?” I ask them. Sara eyes widen and she turns to Sofia who looks just as nervous. Just as Sara is about to answer, Cara’s voice has us turning around.
“This is what we can tell you, Bianca. We don’t go looking for trouble, but we handle it when it comes our way. Did Cam tell you about Wyatt?” she asks, and I nod. “That’s a prime example why we don’t depend on the law. Take it from someone who used to work for the government. Sara and I watched fucked-up people get away with whatever just because they knew the right people.”
I see her point but there’s so much at risk when handling it yourself. “Aren’t you afraid of being caught and going to jail?” I ask them.
“No,” Sara and Cara say in unison. “Look I can’t tell you more than that, Bianca. It’s for your own protection. Just have faith in your man to get the job done and come home.” I nod and we settle in, having a glass of wine.
When Crystal brings the girls home, I’m thankful they’re three years old and don’t really notice my swollen cheeks. Crystal told me if I needed her to, she would keep the girls for me, but I wanted my baby’s home. I need them just as much as I need Cam. I hope he hurries and comes back home.
BLADE
When I walkinto the clubhouse, all the brothers are waiting for me. Viper walks in two minutes after me and we all head down to the basement. The fucker has the gall to actually look scared. Well, that won’t help him at all. I’m going to torture this fucker just like he did to those innocent women. I open the cabinet that has my case of knives in it. There are over twenty different knives. All of them are different sizes and shapes.
“How long have you been doing this? Nova said you had her nine months,” I say to him. He shakes his head, trying to deny it, and I grab one of knives and throw it at him from across the room. The knife sinks into his ribs, and he chokes out a scream.
“Bullseye.” Thor snickers.
All the guys laugh and I grab another knife. Finn starts to scream that he’ll talk. “Three years. My parents cut me off when I didn’t take the career path they wanted. It had been ten years by the time they died. I was shocked they left me the house. I always had a fascination with blood and the house gave me the space I needed so I could play.”
I’m going to enjoy every bit of pain I give this fucker but something he said has me wanting to ask another question. “You said you’ve been doing this for three years. How many women have you killed?”
He smiles wide, and it looks like he’s reminiscing on the moments. “About ten. Their screams were so fucking sweet. I swear I can still hear them.” That’s it. It’s time for this fucker to die.
My brothers are furious. He killed ten woman and he’s happy about it. I grab my knife and I start to remove fingers and toes while cutting his body up from head to toe. I gag him because his screams are becoming too loud. There’s a huge puddle of blood beneath him and I know I have to hurry up with my grand finale before he dies.
Grabbing the spreader bar that Doc told me is used during surgery, I start to cut incisions across his stomach. Placing the bar in the incision, I spread his stomach open and make him watch his guts fall to the ground. The look of shock on his face satisfies me deeply. After the last rope hits the ground, he takes his last breath. When I turn around everyone is looking at me with wide eyes.
Bear is smiling like a proud parent. He gives me a nod of approval. I have to resist the urge to roll my eyes at his crazy ass.
“That was some sick shit, Blade. Now I’m starting to think that shit is genetic in your family. My poor godbabies,” Thor mutters from across the room.
That has the guys howling in laughter and I shake my head with a smirk. “I’m telling Bianca you said that.”
I start walking up the stairs and I hear Thor shouting, “Oh, come on, I was just kidding. No need in involving my best bud.” Everyone laughs harder and I head for my room to clean up.
