“That’s it?” she asks, shocked. I nod and grab her helmet. While I’m strapping on the helmet, River, Viper, and Bear pull up with my sisters on the back of their bikes. Torch is solo and I think it’s going to be like that for a while. My brother is still enjoying the single life. When my bike takes off, Bianca grips me tighter than before. Chuckling, I take off out of the gate.
After about five minutes, Bianca relaxes, but she still keeps her arms tight around me. I know when she sees where I’m taking her, she’s going to try and protest, but I’m not having it. Her car is a death trap and I’m not putting her or my girls at risk. When we pull up to the car dealership, Bianca is almost oblivious to her surroundings.
She is smiling from ear to ear when she takes her helmet off. “That was so much fun!” she gushes.
“I take it you liked the ride.” I smirk down at her. Bianca looks at me with a “duh” look and I bark out a laugh. Once her high dies down, she looks around in confusion.
“What are we doing at a car dealership?” she asks, her head tilted.
“We’re here to get you a safer car,” I tell her. She tries to shake her head, but I palm her face, forcing her to look up at me. “Baby, that car can break down at any moment with you and my girls inside. Let me do what I said I would. I’m taking care of my woman and my girls. I’m not taking no for an answer.”
She looks like she still wants to resist, but when I pull her to me, I can feel her walls crumbling. “Please,” I whisper, looking in her eyes.
I see the minute she wavers and I inwardly high five myself. When the salesman shows us to the SUVs, Bianca tries to pick the cheapest one which I dismiss and ask for the safest. When he shows me one I’m satisfied with, I purchase one for her and myself. I don’t have anything to drive the girls in and I don’t want to have to take her truck every time I have them.
Bear also purchases an SUV for Sara, and she pouts and rants about hating to drive. Sara barely drives. She enjoys the passenger life, but she has two kids now, so she relents and lets him get the SUV. Viper’s phone rings and he walks away to answer it. When he comes back, eyes blazing with fury, I already know something has gone down.
“We have to go. Now. Give them the information to deliver the trucks and let’s go. We have church.” Viper grabs Cara’s hand and leads her to his bike. This isn’t good. We all hurry and give them what they need and head out. When we pull up to my house, I help Bianca off the bike and take her to my parents.
“I have to get to church. I’ll be back in a little bit. If you want to stay here, that’s fine. Or if you want to go home, that’s fine too.”
“You’re going to… church?” she asks with wide eyes. My parents bark out a laugh.
“Not that kind of church, babe. It’s what we call our MC meetings. If there’s some kind of emergency, tell my parents to call one of the prospects and they’ll get in touch with me.” Giving her a quick kiss, I leave out the door.
When I walk into the clubhouse, Ivy is on the couch with two of the bunnies, Blossom and Diamond. She gets up and gets ready to speak to me, but the sound of a gun cocking has her closing her mouth.
I turn around and smile, seeing Cara standing there with her pistol. “He doesn’t exist to you. His fiancée and daughters don’t exist to you. Got it?”
Fury and rage take over Ivy’s face, but she grits out a yes and sits back down.
When we get to the hall, I turn to my sister. “Why did you tell her Bianca is my fiancée?”
“Did you see the look on her face? I want this bitch to make her move, so I can kill her and get it over with.” Cara walks away without another word and Thor passes by snickering.
Once we’re all seated in church, Viper brings the gavel down. “Go ahead, Tech. Tell them what you got.”
“Today, Pyro moved all of his family back to Florida. He’s not even trying to hide them anymore. He sent Layla a message, saying he was going to end it all. I don’t know where his location is, but Layla is back in Florida as well.”
This is the absolutely worst time for this fucker to come out of the hole he’s been hiding in. We took out most of his gang last year, but a handful of them got away. I just want to focus on making Bianca mine and now all this shit keeps getting in my way.
“Nobody leaves alone. I want you in threes at a minimum. If the women or kids leave, I want a full-blown detail with them. We know the girls upgraded the security booth at the gate, adding more screens so they can watch more cameras at a time, but I’m also going to put two prospects on the roof every night. If these fuckers try and attack us again, we’ll be ready. Anything to add?”
“Well, you know the kids start summer break this week, so they won’t be leaving that often. Only Sara, Bianca, and I have work during the week,” Cara tells Viper.
“That’s fine. You three will have brothers following you to work and that’s non-negotiable, Cara.” My sister sits back in her seat with folded arms and her lip poked out in a pout. She hates having to be followed everywhere. Viper rolls his eyes and shakes his head. “On to other things. We all know River’s patch-in party is this weekend and the other two chapters will be here to celebrate. Ax, go get River.”
River has no idea he’s about to receive his patch. When he walks in, he looks around, confused. “River, you’ve been a prospect for two years and the time has come to either patch you in or kick you out.” Viper did the same bullshit to every single one of us. His face lacks any emotion, so you have no idea what he’s thinking. River looks around, nervous as hell. He looks like he’s going to shit his pants. “Give me your cut,” Viper growls. River removes his prospect cut, looking completely dejected. Viper throws the cut onto the table and nods to Axel.
Ax pulls a box from under the table and takes out River’s brand-new cut. “Congratulations, brother. From this day forward, you will be known as Armor, for how you have always protected the woman and children. You even took a bullet. Wear that cut with pride, Armor.”
River sighs as he grabs the cut. “Damn, you scared the hell out of me,” he tells Viper. That has the guys howling with laughter. River shakes his head and smiles wide as he puts his cut on. The room erupts in cheers and whistles. After the celebration is over, Viper ends church, and we all file out. As we’re leaving, Cara and Sara walk with me to our parents’ house. “You need to explain to Bianca why she’s going to have some of the brothers following her,” Cara finally says.
Fuck! I didn’t even think of that. I have no clue how I’m going to explain this. When we get there, I take Bianca out to the porch so I can explain the whole MC lifestyle to her. God, I hope she doesn’t take my babies from me.
