"Well, you know Cara had to come up with a reason for her broken wrist to avoid the law being called."

Everyone nods and waits for him to continue. “She told the nurses she injured her wrist on a malfunctioning sex swing.”

Sofia and I slap a hand over our mouths to refrain from laughing out loud. Torch and Cam shake their heads as their parents look at Doc in complete shock. “She said what?” Crystal shrieks after a few moments of silence.

Doc chuckles while scrubbing a hand down his face. “Apparently, she saw a story about it online and it was the first thing that popped into her head.”

“Can we see her?” Paul asks as he still looks shell-shocked.

“Yes, she’s having her cast put on, so you’ll have to stay out of the way. Her fracture didn’t require any surgery, but she will be in a cast for six weeks at the least. She has a tiny gash on her forehead that required stitches and she also has a minor concussion.”

Paul and Crystal wipe a few stray tears as they stand, and we follow Doc to Cara’s room. As we approach her room, I can hear Cara on the other side butchering “Do Me Baby” by Prince. Sofia and I look at each other and try our damnedest not to laugh. She sounds terrible and a little high. Her words are slurred but she just keeps going. Before we enter, Doc turns to the group.

“We had to medicate her in order to set her wrist before putting the cast on, so that little bit of filter Cara had before the drugs is nonexistent at the moment. I just thought I would warn ya.”

Doc opens the door and we all file in. Crystal ignores Doc’s orders about staying out of the way and rushes to the side of the bed where Viper sits, laughing with a red face. I’m guessing it’s from the lack of oxygen.

“My baby,” Crystal sobs while checking over Cara.

Cara turns to her mom, wrinkling her nose. “Mom, I don’t know if you missed it, but I was the first one that shot out of your hot pocket, making me the oldest, not the baby.”

Paul barks out a laugh and smothers it when Crystal turns around to glare at him. Turning her attention back to Cara, she props her hands on her hips. “I don’t care how medicated you are, we will not discuss my hot pocket in a room full of people.”

“So, are you saying we can discuss it in private?” she fires back with a slur.

Crystal’s mouth hangs open as she looks at Paul, speechless. Eyeing Cam, I can see him trying to hold in his laughs so he doesn’t get caught in the glare of his mother.

“You can take a break, Gail. I’ll finish her cast.”

The nurse nods, holding back a smile before dashing out of the room. Crystal turns to Sara and hugs her close. “Are you okay?” Sara nods with a smile before releasing Crystal. Doc works on Cara’s cast as she turns her attention to Viper.

“Babe!” she whispers horribly.

Viper smiles while sitting forward in his chair. “Yeah, Hellcat?”

“Do you think we’ll still be able to have sex?” she again whispers horribly. I tuck my face into Cam’s chest to muffle my laughs. Cara’s parents look mortified and so do her brothers.

Viper looks at Crystal and Paul with apologetic eyes, but his eyes are alight with amusement. “I don’t know, Hellcat. I’m not a doctor,” he says, looking back over to her.

Cara nods and turns to Doc. “Can we still have sex?”

“Cara, do you really want to have this conversationnow?”

“Yeah, nobody can hear us. That’s why I’m whispering.” She throws him a terrible wink and Doc chuckles while still layering her cast.

“You’re not whispering! We can hear everything!” Torch growls at her.

Cara turns to her brother and smiles. “Don’t get your panties in a twist,Christina. It’s not good for your balls.” She cackles.

“I told you to never call me that! And not wanting to hear about my sister’s sex life is hardly getting my panties in a twist,” he growls again.

“So, you admit to wearing panties,” she smiles mischievously.

I swear I want to ask Doc to give her whatever he did at least once a week. This should be filmed. It’s reality television gold.

“I don’t wear… you know what I mean. I don’t want to hear about you having sex with Viper,” he exclaims. “None of us do.”

“Seriously. Where was the compassion when you and Cam were having sex with all those banshees down the hall? They used to sound like cats when they go in heat. I still have nightmares.”
