“What the hell was she thinking breaking the plan like that?” Viper growls out.

“We had a plan B just in case, Viper,” Sara whispers.

Viper glares over at Sara and she shirks back. Torch and I growl in warning but he completely ignores us.

“Sara, we allow you two to be a part of club business even though it’s frowned upon in this life. What do you think would happen if one of the brothers made a secret plan behind our backs?” he barks at her.

Sara looks away with tear-filled eyes.

Viper sighs and I watch the anger melt away. “I’m sorry, sis. I’m scared. You know Cara is my world, but if you two are going to be a part of this, you can’t go making rogue plans behind our backs. We have to be able to trust you two.”

Sara nods as a tear rolls down her cheek. “I understand.”

Before the SUV can make it to the highway, it swerves. I watch in horror as the SUV tips over and rolls six times before landing on its hood.

“Cara!” Viper screams as he speeds up.

“No!” Sara wails. This is probably bringing back all kinds of bad memories for her. She lost her biological parents when she was eight because of a car accident. Slamming his foot on the breaks, he pulls his gun.

“Sara, I know you’re scared but I need you to call the brothers and stay in the truck. Torch, Blade, let’s go.”

We hop out of the truck and start racing to the SUV. There’s no movement inside the truck and my heart drops. God, please let my sister be okay. We can’t lose her. None of us would be the same if we lost her. She holds a special place in everyone’s heart.

Viper yanks open one of the back doors and one of Pyro’s men is slumped over with his throat slit.

The fuck?

Viper yanks him out of the way and that’s when we see Cara. Her eyes are closed, and she has a tiny gash on her forehead.

“Baby, fuck!”

Viper carefully cuts off her seat belt and Cara groans while grabbing her head. “Ahh. Damn that hurts.”

“Hellcat, are you okay?”

“My head and wrist hurt a little, but other than that, just a few aches and pains.”

“When you’re completely healed, I’m going to blister your ass for this stunt. You won’t sit for a week,” Viper grumbles while helping her maneuver out of the SUV.

“Promises, promises.”

The rumble of bikes has me looking up to see my brothers approaching. Sara hops out of the truck and runs to us. Cara cries out and I turn around to see her clutching her wrist.

“I think it’s broken,” she tells us.

Viper scoops her up bridal style and heads for the truck. “Come on, we need to get you to the hospital.”

“Wait, Pyro and Layla are still alive.”

“What the hell was Layla doing in the truck?” I ask her.

Cara rolls her eyes. “Apparently, she didn’t want to miss out on a single second of my torture.”

Shuffling from inside the truck has all the brothers swarming the vehicle. They yank Pyro and Layla from the SUV and Pyro snarls at Cara. Tiny has a firm grip on the back of Pyro’s neck, restraining him. I’m pretty sure he could snap Pyro’s neck like a twig without even breaking a sweat.

“Who the fuck stabs someone while they’re driving?!” Pyro yells at Cara.

Everyone turns to Cara and her only answer is a shrug.
