“Call it what you want, but you’re not leaving until it’s safe again,” he says, shrugging again.
We sit there in a stare off for a few minutes before I storm away to our room. Grabbing my shoes, I quickly put them on. I need air and space. If I don’t get out of here, I’m afraid I’ll say something I’ll regret. Once I have my shoes on, I head for the front door. Just before I make it to the door, Cam wraps his arms around me.
“Coco, try to understand that I’m just trying to protect you. I can’t lose you,” he chokes out.
I sag against him and take a deep breath. He wants me to be understanding but he needs to do the same. I deal with being followed at every turn once I leave those gates and I haven’t given him any lip about it. The beef with the Knights has nothing to do with me and, still, I haven’t said a single word. No. This time, he needs to be understanding or this relationship will end just as fast as it started.
I love Cameron, I really do, but I won’t let him make all the decisions in my life. “You keep asking me to be understanding but refuse to give me the same courtesy. I need some space before this conversation takes an ugly turn. Don’t worry, I won’t leave the compound. I’ll just hang out with your sisters until I cool off. Is that okay with you, my lord?”
Cam sighs, but he releases me. I open the front door and walk over to Cara’s. On the way there, I try and wrap my mind around if I’m wrong and taking things too far but, in the end, I feel like I’m not asking for too much. When I reach Cara’s house, I ring the doorbell. The door opens and Will is standing there with Chase in his arms.
“Hey, Bianca.”
Will is one gorgeous man. He has short curly dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes. He honestly has a baby face. If I saw him on the street, I would think he wasn’t a day over eighteen but he’s twenty-four. His heart-shaped face and doe eyes make him look super innocent.
He’s not as tall as the other guys around here but still tall, standing at five foot ten. He has muscles but he’s not too bulky. I don’t know what made him become a nanny, but he’s great with the kids. Whenever he does decide to have kids, he’s going to be a great dad.
“Hey, Will. I was looking for Cara. Is she here?”
“No, she and Sara are over at the clubhouse gym. Is everything alright? You look upset.”
“Blade is driving me crazy. I figure if anybody can give me some insight on how to deal with that man it would be his sisters.”
Will chuckles and coos at Chase when he starts getting fussy. “Well, they’ll definitely know how to help you, although they couldn’t help me with my problem.”
I scrunch up my face in confusion. What kind of problem could he have had with Cam? “What kind of problem?” I ask.
“I wanted to know how to get him to swing for my team instead,” he says with a saucy wink. My eyes widen in shock and then I’m throwing my head back, laughing. His mouth contradicts his baby face. You never know what Will is going to say. Chase starts getting even fussier and Will rocks him while humming. Chase settles down.
“Let me get him back in here. Its feeding time and this little guy isn’t nice when he’s hungry.”
I nod, tell him bye, and make my way to the clubhouse. I’ve never been here without Cameron, but I don’t think it would be an issue for me to be here. Everyone is always telling me I’m family, so I swallow down my nerves and enter the clubhouse.
Walking through the common room, I see there are only a few of the guys in here. Diablo, Chains, and Ink. They’re at the bar talking and I contemplate asking how to find the gym. After the patch-in party, I don’t want to end up walking into the wrong room and seeing something I don’t want to see.
Finally making the decision to ask, I walk over, and they all turn to me. They all give me a slight smile to ease my nerves. Not going to lie, sometimes I get a little tongue tied around Diablo and Chains. When Cara told me they like to share their women, I was speechless. I mean, to each their own and all that, but I don’t think I could handle two men at the same time. More power to the women who can, because it sounds like one hell of a time. I can barely handle my man.
“What do you need, little lady?”
Scrunching up my face, I look at Diablo and glare. He doesn’t take me seriously. Diablo has a smug grin and looks completely amused. “Look, just because you guys are a bunch of amazons, doesn’t mean you have to make fun of us smaller people.”
All three of them look at me with wide eyes right before they roar with laughter. Eventually, I join in with them. I can’t believe I just said that. “Well, well, well, the little lady has claws. I like it,” Ink says, winking at me.
“You better keep those winks for the bunnies, brother. Blade see’s you winking at his woman and your face will end up having a personal meeting with his fist,” Chains says, laughing.
“See, that’s what you don’t get. Bianca knows I’m the better man, and she’s going to be choosing me real soon. Isn’t that right?” He looks over at me with a devilish smirk.
I don’t know if he’s serious or not but that is a hard no. The last thing I need is a rumor like that making its way back to Cameron. When they see how nervous I am, the laughter dies from their face immediately.
“Hey, I was only joking, babe. We would never try and poach another brother’s woman. Ask the girls. They’ll tell you. We just like to joke around and piss your men off when we can,” Ink reassures me. I sigh and give him a small smile.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to get all serious.”
“It’s not a problem, Bianca. Seriously, you’re still getting to know us. If you’re ever uncomfortable, don’t hesitate in letting us know it’s too much. Now, how can we help you, little lady?”
I roll my eyes at his little lady comment, and he raises a brow in amusement. “I was looking for the gym. Will said Cara and Sara were there.”
“Yeah, they’re in there sparring with Gunner, Dice, and Capone.”
