“When I walked out, women swarmed me from every angle. They thought I was really Chris Hemsworth. I tried explaining I wasn’t him, but most of the women had already called all their friends and told them Chris was at the clubhouse. Before I knew it, the gate was swarmed with fans and press vans. It took Viper two hours to get rid of the crowd.” He’s blushing when he finishes.
I look at Sara and we both burst into a fit of laughter. It takes me a few minutes, but I finally get them under control. “What about you, Red? How did you get your name?”
“Ha! Your turn! Oh, and if you don’t finish it, I will.” Thor is smiling hard. This must be some story.
Red is glaring at Thor like his stare will make him disappear. “When I get angry, I turn a dark shade of red.”
“That’s not it and you know it!” Thor says chuckling. Thor motions his hands, telling Red to continue. Red rolls his eyes and mutters something but I can’t hear him.
“I didn’t catch that. What did you say?” I ask.
“My first name is Clifford,” Red whispers.
I sit there confused of what that has to do with anything. Then it clicks. Oh, that’s just wrong. “Wait, you mean likeCliffordthe Big Red Dog?” I ask as a giggle slips through my lips. When Red nods his head, I break. I’m laughing so hard I’m clutching my stomach. Red looks like he’s going to kill Thor. I don’t even notice Viper walking over until I hear him.
“What’s so funny?” he asks.
“Red just told me how he got his road name.”
I see Viper’s lip twitch. “How did you get that story out of him?”
“He made Thor tell me how he got his and Thor returned the favor. What’s up?” I ask.
“Well, I thought today would be the perfect day to take my woman for a ride.”
I perk up at the thought. “Really?” Viper nods and I jump up, squealing like a schoolgirl.
Looking over to Sara, I watch her pout. “I want to go for a ride.”
“I’ll take you, cupcake.” Thor throws a wink at Sara.
“I’ll take her,” Bear growls.
I’m frozen where I stand. That is literally the first time I’ve heard him speak. His voice is a deep baritone. He has a natural growl too. I don’t need to ask how he got his road name.
“Really?” my sister looks at Bear in shock. He gives her a nod, and she races to her room.
“Babe, you need to change shoes. Sandals are a no-go on the bike. Put on some boots if you have some. If you don’t have boots, tennis shoes are okay.”
I run to my room and put on my knee-high boots and leather jacket. When I walk out of my room, Sara is leaving hers. She has the same exact things on as I do. We both start laughing and make our way to the common room.
When Viper and Bear see us, they give us a confused look. “We didn’t plan on dressing alike but it’s a reason why we’ve been best friends since we were four,” Sara says.
We walk out of the clubhouse and Viper and Bear give us helmets to put on. While Viper is strapping on my helmet, he gives the rules. “Lean when I lean and hang on tight. Make sure you don’t touch the pipes. That crap hurts like hell.” I give him a nod. After he tells me how to climb on, I wrap my arms around his waist. My boobs are pressed firmly to his back. He starts the bike and the rumble shoots through my entire body.
Once we’re on the highway, I look over at my sister. She is smiling so hard, it looks like her cheeks are going to burst. I never expected to like riding on Viper’s bike this much, but this is the best feeling. I feel free. After a while, I notice a van that has been behind us longer than normal and I suspect we’re being followed. I look over at my sister and she nods. She sees it too.
“White van! Following us!” I yell at Viper over the bike. He looks in the mirror. He spots the van and gives Bear a hand signal. They both take off like bats out of hell. We get back on the route that leads to the clubhouse. The van starts speeding up. What the hell? They’re trying to run us over. I reach into the waistband of Viper’s pants and grab his gun. Sara does the same to Bear. We turn around as best we can while still holding on to the guys. We fire off a couple of shots. One bullet goes through the front window, and another goes inside the engine. The driver stops and slams on the brakes, making a U-turn.
Once we’re back at the compound, we all hop off the bikes. Viper cradles my face in his hands, looking me up and down. “Are you alright?” he asks frantically.
“Babe, I don’t know if you missed it, but I shot at them, not the other way around.” I’m laughing at how ridiculous he’s being. I know he doesn’t want anything to happen to me, but literally, nothing happened.
“Smartass,” he says, rolling his eyes.
“Yeah but you love me!” I beam.
“I do,” he says, bringing my body flush against his and kissing away anymore smart retorts I can come up with. We go at it for a while before my lovely sister breaks it up.
