“You need to talk with Trudy before that decision’s made, Pops. Bella will have all the support she needs, but Trudy knows her girl and what’s best for her. We’ll support whatever decision you and she make,” Axel states, and he’s not wrong.
“She’s finally back to being herself after killing that intruder at the Aunts’ house. I agree with Petey, though. Bella’s going to figure out what’s going on, and it’s best she’s prepared for it instead of being blindsided,” Chubs adds.
“Is our involvement in this going to create problems for Livi and James?” Vex asks.
“James is still a prospect, so we can keep him out of it by limiting what he knows and his role in it all. He can work the gate and get supplies. Livi won’t ask questions. With that said, both would back our decision on this without a doubt,” Cash answers.
“Let’s finish up for today and get things ready for our guests. As for now, this info doesn’t leave this room. Let us know your decision, Petey, and we’ll go from there. Axel, get the prospects to stock up on groceries, and I want one at the main gate at all times. No one except members and family are allowed through the gate without one of us okaying it,” Gunner orders before banging down the gavel.
Walking out of our meeting room, Horse and I head straight for the bar. So much for swearing never to drink again. As Toes sets beer down in front of us, Mac lands on the end of the bar. Waddling to the bowl of nuts, he uses his foot to push them around until he finds a cashew.
“Remind me to never eat the mixed nuts here again,” I mutter to Horse.
“His disgusting feet haven’t killed you yet,” Horse says with a chuckle.
Looking at Mac’s feet, I bark out a laugh.
“A pedicure, Mac?” I say while nodding my head at his bright pink toenails.
“Yep. Twisted Twins,” he answers while digging around for another cashew.
“They do Gee’s again too?”
“Yep, and Loki.”
“Duffy’s?” I ask, already knowing the answer.
“Nooooo!” Mac answers before cackling. “Assman’s are gold!”
“Gold?” Horse asks with a snort.
“Sparkly gold,” Mac responds with another cackle.
Chubs plops down on the seat next to me and turns to Mac.
“Heard you rode a Harley today, Mac. Like it?”
“Vroooom! Vroooom!” Mac screams before doing a perfect imitation of a Harley engine roaring down the highway.
Vex walks behind the bar and comes to a stop opposite Horse. His face is serious, and I already know what’s coming.
“Was there a reason for Tessie being at your place today?” he asks bluntly.
“Collecting rent,” Horse replies calmly while taking a sip of beer.
“How often does she collect ‘rent’?” Vex questions sarcastically.
“Once a week, Vex. She insists we pay weekly. It’s her house, so we do it her way,” Horse answers.
Vex’s eyes turn to me, and I nod my head in agreement. Tessie’s house, Tessie’s rules. We all know it’s her way of seeing Horse, but nobody’s called her on it. That’s Vex and Taja’s job, not mine.
“Rent is paid monthly and paid to me from here out,” Vex orders.
“No problem,” Horse responds while I nod my head again.
“Why are you being pissy about this, Vex?” Chubs asks in a serious tone.
“Because I got my ass chewed off today, so I’m just sharing the love. Prez said he’s not returning her keys until she’s no longer a danger to society. Said he’s doing it for the good of mankind, but it’s just because she nearly made him piss himself today,” Vex answers in a frustrated voice.
