“Never!” Axel insists.
“Okay then. Handguns, rifles or shotguns, pretty boy?”
“All. That way, I can embarrass you three times instead of once,” Axel replies.
“I look forward to it. Word of warning though. I’m the top shooter at the department, and I hope you don’t cry as much as they do when I win,” Livi says with a smirk that matches the one Axel just lost.
“$100 on Livi,” I say while she leans against my chair.
“No shame if I lose to Cash. He’s huge and teaches striking. But Axel, you’re going to look so fucking bad losing to a cop. A female cop at that,” Pooh says with a chuckle.
“Can we re-negotiate this?” Axel asks in a hopeful tone.
“No!” Livi and I reply at the same time.

I’ve been back to work for a few weeks now, and I like having some normalcy back in my day. Liam and I have somewhat of a routine now and that helps too. He’s still a night owl, and I’m sleep-deprived, but things are getting better.
Livi and I spend most of our free time together. James comes around often, and I always enjoy watching him and Livi tease each other. I’ve met a few of their other colleagues, and I like them too. Livi has good people in her life, as do I. She’s met most of the club members and several of the women, and she fits right in.
Snots has claimed my son and house as his. He stays with me when Livi’s working evenings or nights, and he seems to like it. He camps out close to Liam whenever possible and loses his little doggy mind when Liam cries.
Pooh and I had our striking match and most of his bruises have faded by now. Most importantly, my message was received loud and clear. Come to my house, be respectful that there’s an infant living there now. Everyone knocks softly or texts that they’re outside, and Liam’s sleep isn’t interrupted. Axel keeps postponing his shooting match with Livi. He’s come up with new excuses each time, but he can’t put it off much longer.
Things have gotten hot between Livi and me, but we still haven’t had sex. That’s got to change and soon. We haven’t rushed it, and we’ve been taking the time to get to know one another. But I’m not sure how much longer I can go without being inside of her. From everything I’ve learned about her, she’s perfect for me. Our lives have meshed seamlessly so far, and everything’s just easy with her. She’s my type and then some. I’m a patient person, but I’m done with waiting to have all of her.
“Family dinner at the clubhouse on Sunday. You bringing Livi?” Bailey asks as I enter the gym’s office to check on Liam.
“Probably.”
“That’s great. She’ll fit right in, Cash. Especially after she whoops Axel’s ass in the shootout,” Bailey says with a laugh.
“You’re rooting for Livi?” I ask, surprised.
“Of course! Us women have to stick together. Besides, it’ll give me something to give him shit about for a long time.”
“I heard that!” hollers Axel from outside the door to the office.
“Quit eavesdropping!” Bailey hollers back while grinning at me.
I walk out the door, ignore Axel’s pouting and get back to work.

Livi chose to follow me in her car to the club dinner today. I invited James so he’s riding with her while I picked up the Aunts to ride with me. I park my truck, with Livi parking next to me, and gather up Liam and his bag while James assists the Aunts.
Lola and Lottie chatted my ears off about James the whole ride here. They met him a few days ago and have been enamored ever since. They’ve praised his size, clothes and manners. They even shared their secret family recipe for potato salad with him. The funny thing about this is that he seems just as in awe of them.
I’m sure we’re going to make quite an entrance. Me, carrying Liam with Livi beside us, and James with an arm held by each aunt, trailed by a chubby bulldog. I glance down at Livi and find her looking up at me.
“You ready for this?” I ask as we reach the main door to the clubhouse.
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?” Livi asks with a slight frown.
“There’s a whole lot of crazy inside this door,” I warn her with a grin.
“I’m a cop. I specialize in crazy,” Livi answers calmly.
