“It’s a big deal for Cash. He never brings women to the clubhouse. Some of the guys have met women he’s dated before but not many,” Trudy adds.

My head jerks her direction, and I look at her closely to see if she’s being serious.

“Really?” I question.

“None of us even met Liam’s mom,” Trudy states.

“Cash is more private than most of the men. Don’t get me wrong, he’s involved in the club as much as the others, but he’s not the one you’ll find in the bathroom getting a hummer,” Ava explains.

“You’re lucky because before I met Vex, he was the world’s biggest man-whore. I had the displeasure of getting to work with several of the club strippers who all had more knowledge of Vex’s anatomy than I did. Same with the club girls,” Taja tells me with an eye roll.

“How’s that make me lucky?”

“Cash hasn’t ever been that guy,” Lucy says softly.

“Cash is the club enforcer. He can explain what that means, but it’s a position only given to a member who’s completely trusted and respected. It has to be a unanimous vote. He earned it,” Tammy, Trigger’s woman, says.

“Gunner told me that Cash wouldn’t have invited you if he wasn’t serious about having a relationship with you. That Cash would never expose his club to just any woman. Has to be someone that he can see a future with,” Ava tells me as she tosses a dishtowel over her shoulder.

“Is Cash someone you can see yourself with or are you just killing time with him?” asks Tessie bluntly.

“I would love to keep him in my life,” I answer instantly.

“Good answer,” Tessie says with a laugh.

“You ladies can rest easy. We’ve already vetted Livi and concur that she’s good enough for our Cash,” Lottie tells the room as she enters it.

“How do you know…,” Trudy starts to ask.

“Because I’m old, Trudy. Old people are wise. Wise enough to know you hens couldn’t wait to get Livi away from the men to see where her head is at. It’s on straight so quit worrying.”

“And if for some reason it’s not, we’ll help hide her body. No offense, Livi,” Lola adds as she walks through the swinging door.

“None taken,” I reply while keeping a straight face.

It shouldn’t be hard doing that considering I don’t think Lola’s joking, but it is. For some odd reason, I already love those two crazy-ass old bats and they always make me smile. They’re full of life, piss and vinegar, and I hope like hell I am too when I’m their age.

Dishes get finished, and I amble my way back to Cash’s side. As soon as I approach, he lifts an arm and pulls my front to his side. I wrap my arms around his waist and lean against his solid body. The conversation Cash is having with several members continues. Cash listens more than he talks, but when he does speak everyone listens closely.

Axel walks up to the group carrying his daughter. She’s got her blond head resting against his shoulder, secure in her daddy’s arms. She looks me over for a moment before giving me a shy smile. I reach out and boop her nose and grin when she gives a tinkling laugh.

“What’s your name, pretty girl?” I ask her quietly, not wanting to interrupt the men.

“Awex,” she answers then promptly sticks her thumb in her mouth.

“That’s a pretty name. I’m Livi.”

“Ivi,” Alex says after pulling her thumb out with a pop.

I watch as Alex’s eyes drift over my shoulder then promptly light with delight. Both hands shoot out in a “hold me” gesture as her little legs jerk as she bounces herself in excitement.

“Pops!” she shouts perfectly.

“There’s my girl. Come here,” Big Petey says as he reaches for Alex.

“I just got her back!” Axel snips at his dad as he steps away, holding tight to his squirming child.

“Give me my granddaughter,” Petey states firmly, hands hitting his hips, feet planting wide.
