“What?” I ask.

“Is Toes really on Poo-Poo Patrol every day because he checked out my ass?” she whispers.

“Yup. He won’t make that mistake again. I promise you,” I respond.

“Seriously, Vex? Just for that, you’re making him pick up shit with his hands?” she asks incredulously.

“I’m not a jerk. I gave him gloves,” I smirk.

“So, what am I allowed to do when the dancers are rubbing all up on you and grabbing your junk? Firing squad? Stoning in the town square? Don’t give me that look. I’ve seen them in action.”

“Tell them I’m yours, and you don’t share. Bitch slap them. Do whatever makes you feel better. If you can get that shit to stop, I’m all for whatever methods you use,” I answer truthfully.

“You may regret saying that when there’s no uninjured dancers on the stage,” Taja says with a wicked grin.

“I won’t. Freddy might not enjoy it as much as I do, though. But then again, he’s claimed you as family, so he may be all for it. But until the baby’s born make the smack downs verbal.”

“Hey, Vex. Hi, Taja. What’s got Gunner mad?” Chubs asks as he plops down on a chair. He tweaks each twin on the nose before holding his hands out for little Alex.

“Axel,” I answer with a grin as I watch Taja begrudgingly hand over the infant to Chubs.

“Hi. There’s my child,” says Bailey as she stops next to us.

“Your child’s here, but your man’s in the office with Gunner,” I tell her.

“I figured it might be Axel that Gunner’s hollering at,” Bailey responds with a grin. “What’d he do this time?”

“Accidentally taught the twins to swear,” I reply.

“Oh God! That’s not good,” Bailey says with a cringe.

“It was totally an accident. He’s so good with the girls, I know he didn’t mean for that to happen,” Taja adds.

“I didn’t, but it did and I’m now on LOTT according to their over-sized father,” Axel grumbles as he stops next to Bailey. “For years, the ass said.”

“Asssssssss!” twin on the right repeats.

Bailey and Chubs both turn their heads away from the twins while laughing silently. Axel stares down at the twin like she’s trying to get him killed.

“Please don’t say that around your mother! I survived your dad, but your mom has a mean ass right hook. I like my face the way it is!” Axel exclaims.

“What’s LOTT?” Taja asks.

“Loss of Twin Time,” Axel answers dejectedly. “In prison it’s called LOP—loss of privileges. Gunner’s probably spent a year thinking that up, just waiting to use it against me.”

“Wuck me!” twin on the left screams and then giggles.

“Give me my child, please. I’m going home to figure out ways around Gunner and his orders,” Axel says while putting the sling back on and placing Alex in it.

After Bailey, Axel and daughter walk out of the clubhouse, Mac lands on the table in front of the twins. They each reach their hands out to him, and it’s cute to watch them interact.

“Axel,” Mac states.

“Axel,” each twin promptly repeats. This is clearly not the first time they’ve said it because it’s said so perfectly. Maybe Axel was right, and Mac has brainwashed the twins.
