“We’re pregnant? Seriously? Baby, why are you crying? That’s the best gift you could ever give me! This is great news!”
“How is this great? We’re not even married! We’re doing this all backward!” she moans.
“Not backwards, baby. We’re doing it our way. So what if we’re not married yet? We can do that next week if you want. Or we can wait. I don’t care when as long as you and the baby are healthy and we’re together. Is this why you’ve been so emotional lately?”
“Probably. Everything either makes me mad or makes me cry. I’m sorry, Ax. I’m happy about the baby, really. I’m just a mess. I had no clue until the doctor just called,” Bailey confirms.
“We’re going home, right now, and we’re taking a bath and then spending the night in bed. You can catch up on some sleep or we can make plans for the gorgeous little girl you’re going to gift me with. Love you, Bails. So fucking much.”
“How are you sure it’s going to be a girl?” she asks.
“Because my dad has always said that I was an only child because God didn’t hate him enough to force two of me on him.”
That brings a beautiful, if teary, smile to Bailey’s face. I step forward, pull her gently from Axel, and give her a hug. “Congratulations, Bailey. You’ll be a great mom and I can’t wait to meet your little one,” I tell her quietly. I release her, punch Axel in the shoulder and tell him, “Congrats, man! Let’s hope like hell the baby looks like Bailey instead of your special kind of ugly.”
“Congratulations!” Cash and Pippa say at the same time. They both give out hugs and back slaps to the happy couple.
Axel is beaming and then shouts loudly to the room, “We’re pregnant! My boys are potent little fuckers! We’re fucking pregnant!” Everyone in the gym laughs and shouts of congratulations can be heard throughout.
“We have to go tell Dad and Trudy and then it’s home for you, baby,” Axel states.
Bailey and Axel walk out and head home for some peace and quiet. It’s well deserved and this development also explains Bailey getting so angry at Trigger’s house. That wasn’t like her and I’ve been wondering about it ever since that night.
As if that wasn’t enough news for one day, Trigger calls and he is one unhappy biker. Craig’s dad, Bruce Marlett, had put out some feelers while in jail and found out Craig and his mom moved to New Horizons when he went to jail. And he showed up there with plans to force them to come home with him. He found Trigger instead.
“Is he going to be a problem?” I ask Trigger when he calls me.
“Yeah, I think so. He’s a complete douchebag. He doesn’t strike me as the type to go up against a man though. He’s your usual coward type. He’s tough with women and children but not with a man.”
“Does he understand that he has no rights to Craig now?”
“Yeah, but he doesn’t know that Katrena split and left the kid behind and it’s her he wants. He seems to think that if he has Craig, Mom will come running back.”
“We’re about ready to leave here, so we’ll see you in a few minutes. We can come up with a plan then,” I tell him. We disconnect and I go find Pippa and Craig. On my way to them, I cross paths with Cash and fill him in on what’s up.
“Not sure, because I don’t know this guy, but Craig might be safer from him if he knows the mom left him behind. That she doesn’t want him,” Cash states.
“Or he might decide to put up a bigger fight to get his rights reinstated in hopes she’ll change her mind,” I counter.
“Fuck, yeah, maybe. What a mess. You need help, call me. I’m not a fan of watching a little boy become a pawn for a piece of shit dad.”
“Thanks, Cash. I will. See you later.”
“Bye.”

We are all at Tammy’s house for the night again. Pippa has furniture being delivered to her house tomorrow, but Tammy insisted we spend another night at her place. Neither Trigger, nor I, are planning on leaving them alone so we’re all in the kitchen while the women work together to get dinner served.
I notice, grinning to myself, that Tammy does the actual cooking while Pippa does most of the prep work. She’s quick and efficient but Tammy guards that stove like it’s the crown jewels. You can tell that they have done this many times together and have it down to a science.
Craig is sitting at the bar with Trigger and I, sipping on his juice, and complaining it’s not pop. Apparently, the little guy loves his root beer and Pippa keeps him limited and that’s something he does not take lightly.
“Not fair, Pips. They’re drinking beer and I have to drink juice. And it tastes like ass!” he spouts.
“You keep swearing and you’ll never taste root beer again, young man,” Pippa informs him.
“Still not fair. I stayed clean all day and I deserve a root beer for that!” he hollers.
