After another moment, I pull out of her and get up to take care of the condom in her attached bathroom. I grab a washcloth and wet it with warm water and return to find her in the same position I left her in.
Chuckling, I walk to the bed and gently clean her up, drop another kiss on her mouth and return the cloth to the bathroom. Walking back out, I see she has slid under the covers and I climb in beside her. She rolls so her front is against my side and she places her head on my chest and her hand on my abs. I hug her to me and put my hand low on her back.
“We need to be awake before Craig,” Pippa says.
“I’m an early riser. We will be. What about Tammy? Is she going to hand me my balls for fucking her daughter under her roof?” I question with a laugh.
“No. She’s cool. And it helps that she likes you for me.”
“She does? I wasn’t sure after that fucking dinner fiasco.”
“She’s the one who encouraged me to give you a chance when we first met. She was mad and hurt over Trigger but she likes you. You’re golden with her if I keep smiling when you’re around. And that’ll happen if you keep being generous with your cock, hands and mouth.”
I bark out a laugh and squeeze her tight for a moment.
“Not to sound too much like Axel, but you’re welcome to all of those parts of me, anytime you want, babe.”
“Perfect. We should get along just fine then.”
Pippa
The following morning, Craig was picked up by Trudy so he could spend the day at the clubhouse with Bella and Ava’s pets. Lucy, bless her heart, set up a meeting for Tammy and I with her dad, the Governor. The guys left for work while Tammy and I left for the governor’s office. We’re both nervous but very hopeful. Lucy is meeting us there and I’m unbelievably grateful to her for all she has done.
Yesterday, I spoke with our newest resident at New Horizons, the attorney, and she gave me some great advice and points to stress with the Governor. She also agreed to be our attorney on record. Fingers crossed, we look for Lucy as we walk into the Capitol Building.
“Ms. Hastings, the head of Social Services, will make sure this matter is expedited. I spoke with her yesterday and she assured me there will be no problems. Craig’s future will be secure. What you women are doing at New Horizons is amazing. And your organization has a friend in this office. Lucy has sung your praises long and loud and I learned, a long time ago, to listen when she gets passionate about something,” Governor Douglas tells us with a smile aimed at his daughter. Lucy grins back.
“Thank you so much, sir! Your assistance is much appreciated,” I reply.
“Tammy is now his temporary foster mother while we get the necessary paperwork completed for you, Pippa. When it is, he’ll become your foster son. If you decide in the future to adopt, it will be done quickly. His mother’s parental rights are in the process of being terminated and his father’s already have been. A mother abandoning her son for her own future is not a mother that gets to come back later and expect a second chance. As far as I’m concerned, his future comes before hers.”
“Thank you, Daddy. This is what’s best for Craig. Chubs and I will get to be a part of his life too and he adores Chubs,” Lucy adds.
“Yes, he does. And thank you, Lucy, for all your help. If I can ever repay you for this, please let me know,” I tell her sincerely.
She grins and waves me off while walking to her dad and giving him a hug. We say our goodbyes and walk out of his office. I’m so happy that I could float on air. Craig’s future is secure and I get to be a part of it. Yay! But the hard part is still to come and I’m hoping that by telling Craig, it will not break his heart. How do you tell a little boy that his mom doesn’t want him anymore?

After a full day, I pull into my garage. I need to be here for the delivery of some new furniture I ordered and to pick up a few changes of clothes. Until Craig’s dad gives up looking for him, I’ll be sticking close, and that means more nights at Tammy’s house. We’re all meeting up at the clubhouse tonight for dinner first though.
After tipping the delivery guys, I hit the shower and then do my hair and a light dusting of makeup. The weather is warm so I pull on a pair of cute, jade-colored capris with a lacy, cream-colored tank top. Adding a pair of sandals and I’m out the door with my overnight bag.
I know Ava is cooking dinner for several of the club members tonight and I’m anxious to get there and chat with Petey and Trudy. Since they adopted Bella under some bad circumstances, I’m hoping they will have some advice on how best to approach Craig.
Just as I’m climbing into my car, my phone rings. I slide into the driver’s seat, close my door and dig my phone out of my purse. Officer Kantola is calling. She’s kind of a liaison, unofficially, between the police department and New Horizons. She handles mostly domestic violence crimes and refers many women to New Horizons. Her calls are usually bad news for someone.
“Hello?”
“Hi, Ms. Holbrook. This is Officer Kantola. I wanted to give you a heads up about a case I’m currently working. Do you have a moment to speak?”
“Yes, of course. How can I help?”
“The victim in this case has two young children, ages two and three. She left her abusive partner and has been living in her car with her children for a few weeks now. The partner found them today and assaulted the victim and then fled. I’m at the hospital now with the victim and she has nobody she can turn to for help. I’ve given her the information about New Horizons, but she’s scared. I was wondering if you could come down here and speak with her yourself. Maybe you can get through to her better than a cop can.”
“Absolutely. I’ll head your direction immediately. Which hospital are you at?”
“Saint Joseph’s on 19thAvenue. We’ll meet you by the E.R. entrance. And thank you.”
