Me: Same.
BILF: Do you live at NH?
Me: No, I own a small house a few blocks from there.
BILF: I’m glad to hear that. You need down time from there.
Me: Yeah, I do. It can be stressful some days. Tense. I need to step away and have quiet.
BILF: Same for me. When I need to step away, I go riding. Wind, road, peace and freedom.
Me: That sounds nice. I jog when I need to be alone.
BILF: I work most days at Jax’s gym. Club owns it. You should come by there.
Me: I like to jog outside, not on a treadmill.
BILF: For self-defense classes. You working at NH you should have some skills in case you need them.
Me: That’s a good idea, actually. For me, Tammy and some of the others too.
BILF: Never hurts to know how to defend yourself.
Me: Who teaches them?
BILF: For you, it would be me. For the others, probably Cash or Axel.
Me: I will stop by. I could have used some skills a few months ago. Angry boyfriend = black eye for me.
BILF: Your angry boyfriend?!?
Me: No, a woman staying here. I got between when he showed up in the yard.
BILF: Name of boyfriend?
Me: I can’t tell you that.
BILF: Yes you can. Does she still live there?
Me: No.
BILF: Then she’s not a client anymore. Name?
Me: Why do you want to know? Or should I not ask?
BILF: Name?
I shouldn’t tell him. But the guy was a complete ass and Holly left New Horizons and went right back to him. I’ve been worried ever since then because of how violent this guy is. Mind made-up, I answer.
Me: Harold Mercier. He works for Com-Mart. Complete ass. He’s put her in the hospital twice that I know of. I hope she is okay but I doubt it.
BILF: Thanks, babe. I’ll check on her and let you know. Are you wearing my hoodie?
Me: Thanks. Yes, I am. It smells like you. I like that.
BILF: I like you wearing something of mine.
Me: I like it too.
