Drew put his arm round Penn’s shoulders, “Sorry buddy, bad luck there.”

“Tell me about it.”

“Hey,” Felix patted his knee, “Drew convinced Jupiter to agree to an afternoon of throwing the ball with him, it’s going into the auction at the gala next month. You can bid on that.”

Penn’s expression perked up a little. “Yeah? We’re already going to that, right?” He looked over to me for confirmation like I was his fucking social secretary.

“Yes, we bought a table,” I answered, because I clearly was.

“Good.”

I rolled my eyes at Murray, grinning, because he managed Penn just as much as I did.

We were then interrupted by a small voice, and all turned around to see two teenage boys staring at Drew and Felix.

“Excuse me, could we get a picture with you?”

“Sure, bud,” replied Felix, pulling Drew in.

I moved out of their way and used the opportunity to get closer to Beulah, sitting in the empty seat next to her. She turned as she felt me brush against her leg.

“Hey.”

“Hey, yourself,” I smiled. “Are you having fun?”

She was just about to reply when she caught the scene over my shoulder, leaning in enough that I caught the subtle scent of her shampoo. My shampoo, on her. Which suddenly made it the sexiest thing I owned.

“Why is everyone asking for pictures with Drew and Felix?”

I chuckled, enjoying how unaware she was because there used to be a time when I thought she knew everything. “They played for the Rangers with Murray’s brothers-in-law. You’re looking at two of the best wings ever to grace the NHL.”

She did a good job of hiding how impressed she was, with another bemused look and a small shake of her head.

“What?”

She shrugged. “Nothing, I don’t know. This weekend… I’ve really enjoyed it… it’s made me think how different my life is to this. That’s all. It never occurred to me…” She trailed off as she finally lost the words she needed.

I stayed still, unsure of the words I also needed to hear from her. “What didn’t?”

She smiled softly. “Nothing, it doesn’t matter. Thank you, Latham.”

A sharp pain shot through my ribcage causing me to spin round to see Felix’s beaming with amusement.

“What the fuck was that for?” I snapped.

He nodded up at the screen just as I became aware of everyone in the vicinity chanting‘KISS KISS KISS’.Beulah stiffened beside me as she caught onto what was happening, both of us looking up at the screen to see our faces surrounded with a flashing heart, peering back.

I’d never been a fan of the kiss cam, always thought it was a slightly tacky and ridiculous pastime that detracted from the game in hand. My opinion had taken a swift one eighty because now, in this exact moment, I wanted to find whoever came up with the idea and shake them by the hand.

I turned back to her confused face and tugged on the rim of her cap, flicking mine round to the back so I could get closer. It dawned on me that even with everything that had gone on between us over the past week, we hadn’t actuallykissedkissed. My tongue had thrust in her mouth while I fucked her, but I’d never had the opportunity to really take my time to taste her, to leisurely explore her, to feel her soften like butter under the warmth of my touch.

And I’d never been more desperate for it.

I gave her a split second to object before slanting my lips over hers, testing to see if she’d push me away, or if I could go deeper.

She offered up a gentle sigh that set my heart racing, as her lips parted to allow me access which I took full advantage of with a warm swipe of my tongue, before craning my neck away. Even though the camera had moved onto its next victims, this was barely the beginning, and I wasn’t nearly done. Going back in for round two, this time my hands cupped her warm cheeks of their own accord while I held her and took my fill, tasting the sweetness of the popcorn she’d eaten, the beer she’d drank, and her.

My cock swelled so much my jeans became uncomfortably tight, but I didn’t want to stop. In the end, another sharp elbow from Felix brought me back to the present.
