“Move in with me,” I whispered against her lips.
Pulling back to see her face, she looked back at me with so much surprise and pleasure it took my breath away.
“What? That’s what you were going to say just now?”
“Move in with me. I know it’s too soon and crazy. I know we have a lot to figure out, and I’ll understand if you say no. But I don’t want to go another night without you in my arms. I want to live with you, Abbie.” I was not above begging.
“But…” I didn’t let her finish before rushing to continue.
“I don’t care where we live. I can sell the house, and we can get a condo downtown or…”
“Yes, Aiden.”
“I’ll drink whatever coffee you make. And never complain again. Hell, I’ll make the coffee for the rest of our lives just if you just say…”
She’d started giggling at my ridiculousness. It took a minute for me to realize that she’d agreed.
“Really?” I searched her face for any hint of doubt. I didn’t want her feeling rushed, but I wanted us tangled up in each other like this every night.
“Yes, Aiden. I want to live with you too. My lease is up in a couple of months. We can start planning. We’re both going to be busy, so I want all the time I can get with you.” Her eyes were alight with happiness. “And yes, I’ll take you up on your coffee offer.”
“Me too, baby.” Suddenly, a wave of emotion hit me. I felt pressure building behind my eyes. “We’re really doing this. You’re mine, and I’m yours.”
“Yes, Aiden. We belong together, and I always want to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
“We will, sweetheart. I’ll always fight for us.”
“I love you, Aiden.” I’d never tire of hearing those words from her.
“I love you too, Abbie. And as someone who loves you so much, I’m always going to be looking out for your well-being. Right now, I’m worried you’re getting cold.”
“Really? Is that right?” She eyed me with faux skepticism.
“Absolutely. I think the situation requires attention.” I looked down at her breasts once more, pulling her back under the covers. “They say the best way to warm up is through shared body heat. We’d better do that immediately.”
“Well, if it’s what ‘they’ say, then who are we to argue?”
