He was lying on his stomach in front of the fireplace, reading a book while Luca was sitting in his leather chair looking at him with a small smile.

Jude's head jerked up at the sound of my voice.

“Cassie!” He jumped from his spot on the floor and ran to me, wrapping me in his usual crushing hug.

“How?” I asked, hugging him back. “How?” I asked again, looking up at Luca who was looking at us from his spot in his chair, a bittersweet look on his face.

“I’ve been working on that for a while.” He stood up and walked toward us. “It’s only for a day,” he added quickly. “I was trying to get him to come for your birthday but I got sick and…” He shrugged. “Happy belated birthday.”

“This house is amazing, Cassie. Luca gave me a tour. I love it!”

Jude beamed up at me, and it was like having my carefree little brother again.

I removed his overgrown bangs from his eyes when he broke the hug. “How long have you been here?”

“About two hours but Luca said you worked hard and you were tired, so we let you sleep,” he added before going to retrieve his book on the floor.

I looked at Luca as my cheeks tainted red.

“How are you?” he asked and I knew exactly what he meant.

“Perfect,” I replied, my cheeks turning even redder.

He gave me a side-smirk full of male pride and I couldn’t help but shake my head at the silliness of the moment.

“Jude was telling me how much he’d love to live here,” Luca continued, coming to stand beside me, brushing the back of his hand against my cheek tenderly.

I turned toward Jude who was studying us thoughtfully. “You would like to live here? With Luca and Dom?”

“Is Luca your boyfriend?”

“Yes, is Luca your boyfriend?” I swirled around to see Dom leaning on the doorframe, a mocking grin on his face. “What?” he asked, raising his hands in surrender. “I need to make sure I’ve been kicked from my home for a good reason.”

I grimaced at the memory of Luca kicking him to the curb last night. I sent a helpless look to Luca who shrugged it off.

“I’d like to hear that answer too.”

I sighed, concentrating on Jude’s again. “Yes, he is.”

Luca grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers together.

“Are you okay with that?” I asked with apprehension. Jude was not great with changes or new people and me being with Luca and moving him here were big ones.

Jude rested his book on his lap, studying Luca silently.

He finally nodded. “Yeah, it’s cool. I like Luca.” He looked back down at his book. “Plus, he said he’ll give me a library and will buy me a dog if I move in.”

I looked up at Luca with my eyebrows arched.

He winked at me. “I never said I was above bribery.”

I chuckled, leaning against him.

“When am I moving in?” Jude asked, keeping his eyes on the book he was reading.

“We’re going to New York in a few days to see a lawyer. We’ll work as fast as we can,” Luca told him.

“We’re going to New York.”
