“Um, let’s see,” Levi said. “What’s the term I’m looking for? Oh, yeah…hell no.”

“Surely you’re more secure in your relationship with Katie than that,” Tucker said, reaching out and snagging her hand.

“I’m secure in our relationship,” Levi said. “Completely.”

“Then you’ll have no problem letting me have one dance with her.”

He gave a little tug on Kate’s hand, pulling her away from Levi.

Kate wasn’t sure what she wanted to happen here, exactly. The idea that Levi was secure enough to let her dance with the sexy Tucker was nice on one hand. On the other hand, she also liked the idea that Levi would be possessive and not let the other man near her.

And on theotherother hand—since when was it up to Levi tolether do anything? She could dance with whoever she wanted to.

Of course, the only one she wanted to dance with was Levi.

But still.

Tucker was very attractive. It was possible that she would have danced—and more—with him if she hadn’t met Levi. But ever since that December night when she’d heard his deep voice say, “Christmas just became my favorite holiday,” she’d been Levi’s.

“I’m secure enough to let you dance with her,” Levi said. “But she doesn’t want to dance with you.”

Kate felt her eyebrows rise as Tucker chuckled.

“Is that right?” Tucker pulled her up against his side and looped an arm around her shoulders. “Kate might be curious about how that dance will go.”

“She might be,” Levi agreed. He made no move to extract her from Tucker’s embrace but his gaze settled on hers. His was intent and confident. “But I think she’s more curious about my plans for the chocolate-covered cherries in my truck.”

He was totally right.

Kate knew that somehow one or both of them were going to end up with chocolate and cherries all over.

At Christmas it had been candy canes.

She could simply smell peppermint now and her nipples would get hard.

On New Year’s Eve it had been champagne.

“Yeah, we need to go.” She stepped away from Tucker and took Levi’s hand.

Tucker laughed. “Well, Hails, it’s just you and me again.”

“Sorry. I’ve got somewhere to be,” Hailey said. “And don’t call me Hails.”

“Ty does it.”

“That’s different.”

“So, this place you gotta be. Is it an I-need-double-D-batteries kind of place or is it an I’ve-taken-a-vow-of-chastity-and-need-silent-prayer-time kind of place?”

Hailey gave him a small smile but it was clear she wasn’t amused. “Somewhere in between those two.”

“There’s a lot in between those two,” Tucker said.

“Exactly.”

“Come to think of it, Ty is in town,” Tucker said.

“So?” Hailey looked bored.
