Tex pulled her upright, dragging her against his chest and cupping one of her breasts, his fingers rolling and pinching her nipple as he slid the other hand down her stomach and stroked her clit, building her higher and higher until she was almost mindless with pleasure, desperate for relief. He released her breast, using his hand to angle her head back toward him so he could cover her lips with his, his tongue taking possession of her mouth the way his cock was possessing her body.

It was all too much. Too much sensation, too much intensity, too muchTex:the taste of him in her mouth, the touch of his skin against hers, the feel of him driving into her… Eden lost control, reaching her hand back and gripping his hair at the nape of his neck as she exploded, moaning and whimpering against his lips as her body spasmed around him.

Tex pulled his mouth from hers, and Eden’s eyes opened to meet his gaze, seeing a burning need there that matched her own. He kept hold of her chin, so she had no choice but to keep her gaze locked with his as her body convulsed in his arms. The intimacy almost too intense as his eyes blazed down at her.

Tex’s gaze narrowed on hers. “Fuck sweetheart, I’m coming,” he ground out, his words sending pleasure lancing through her again as he gave one last hard thrust, then groaned as he pulsed inside her.

Eden was spent when he finally let her chin go, and she collapsed forward against the back of the lounger, pulling in great gasps of air.

That was… That had been… Well, she’d never experienced anything like it. Tex was still inside her, still half-hard, and she wondered if he could feel the residual shivers that were still shuddering through her. She could hear his labored breaths as he stroked his hand soothingly up and down her back before bending and pressing a kiss to her shoulder blade.

Finally easing out of her, he pulled her lax body back against him, then turned her so they were facing each other.

Eden stared up at him, still slightly stunned about what had happened. Not just how much more intense it had been than any previous experience she’d had, but that it had been with Tex. That she’d thrown caution to the wind and taken what she wanted.

Tex’s eyes searched hers, which she was sure were probably showing exactly how dazed she was. “Are you okay? I wasn’t too rough, was I?”

Eden let out a small laugh. “No, that was… it was amazing. Better than anything I’ve ever…” She trailed off at his expression.

“That’s good to hear, because we’re not anywhere near done yet.” He bent and pressed his mouth to hers in a kiss so full of promise for what was to come that the need Eden thought was fully sated flared hot again.

She could feel him already surging to full hardness against her stomach, and she moaned in anticipation.

Tex broke the kiss. “I take it you don’t have a problem with that?”

She shook her head.

His smile was wolfish. “Good,” was all he said before he stood, swept her up in his arms and headed inside.

Chapter 15

Tex stroked his hand up and down the smooth skin of Eden’s back as she lay draped over him like a warm, sweet-smelling blanket, her head tucked under his chin. Her breathing deepened, and he knew she’d fallen asleep, probably exhausted after everything they’d done that night. He didn’t want to move her just yet. She was so much smaller than him, it was no hardship having her lie on him and he wanted the reassurance of her weight, the confirmation that at least for that moment, she was his.

He didn’t know what would happen if Noah found out what they’d done. After all, he’d trusted Tex with making sure Eden was safe and that no one took advantage of her, when apparently it was Tex he should have been worried about the whole damn time.

Guilt tightened his chest. He felt like an asshole for coming into Noah’s house and betraying him like this. The guy was as easygoing as they came, except for when it involved the people he loved. Tex knew that Noah’s protective streak was a mile wide when it came to Eden. And he hoped like hell that what had happened wouldn’t ruin fifteen years of friendship.

But fuck, after all these years he’d finally felt it. The spark. Not just a spark. A raging forest fire of want and need, and when it’d come down to it, he hadn’t been strong enough to resist her when she’d revealed herself to him, all wide-eyed and vulnerable. And he’d taken her bare. If that wasn’t an indication of something, he didn’t know what was. He’d never done that before—far too concerned about the consequences if things went wrong. But with Eden the desire had been almost overwhelming.

Of course, if she’d said no, he would have held off until they’d found a condom. That was if he hadn’t talked himself out of having her before then.

But he couldn’t regret what he’d done, as hard as the guilt might be hitting him now.

And it had been incredible. The whole night had been incredible; fuckingintense.Being inside her, so hot and wet and tight, looking into her eyes as she came again and again…

Shit, he was getting hard just thinking about it.

Knowing he wouldn’t be getting back to sleep, and seeing it was still dark outside, he carefully rolled Eden off him, tucking the blankets around her before dropping a kiss on her forehead. He dressed quietly, making his way out of the bedroom and heading downstairs to grab his guitar before making his way to the music room.

He ran through some songs from the upcoming album, adding in licks and arpeggios as the mood took him while his mind wandered back to the woman upstairs. Being away from the sweetness of her body made room for reality to come crashing back in. Even without the issue of how Noah would react, Eden was still so fucking young. Almost a decade younger than him. And it wasn’t that he was old, he wasn’t even thirty yet, but he knew what he wanted, a serious relationship, commitment, love. Connor’s upcoming wedding only drove home the fact that he was looking for something lasting.

But was Eden? And if she were, would it be with someone like him? Even with her brother being in Fractured, Eden had never been truly immersed in the rock-and-roll lifestyle. Tex recalled Noah’s words from a few weeks ago:this lifestyle isn’t conducive to lastingrelationships…it takes a certain type of woman to deal with all that shit.Would Eden deal with it? Would she even want to try? After all, she’d been hurt already by a musician. Would it all prove too much for her?

Tex shook his head, he was getting way too ahead of himself. He needed to talk to Eden first, figure out what last night had meant to her, if anything. He checked the time and realized it was getting late, she’d probably be up soon.

After stretching to ease the tightness in his muscles from sitting down for the last few hours, he left his guitar in the room and wandered out to see the sun was already up. Eden was a naturally early riser—apparently years of morning college classes had made it a habit—so she’d probably be awake soon, if she wasn’t already.

Anticipation at being able to touch her again hummed in his veins as he headed back up to his bedroom. He opened the door and stepped in, only to find his bed empty, with no sign that Eden had ever been there. Tex frowned, then crossed the room to check his bathroom, but she wasn’t in there either. He walked down the hallway to her room and knocked on the door.
