“Ember. I am really fucking sorry about earlier.” He walked closer to my bed, and I pulled my sheets tighter around me, then he paused.

“Don’t be scared, mi sol. Please. I couldn’t stop thinking about you tonight. At the party, everyone was pissed because all I could do was mope in the corner thinking of you.”

I relaxed. “Good,” I said, straightening up a little in my bed. His low laugh reverberated in the otherwise dark and quiet bedroom.

“Move over?” It was a question but a command at the same time.

I didn’t move.

“Are you drunk?” I asked.

“A little tipsy,” he confessed, and I was surprised by his honesty. He always lied.

“Answer the call.”

I glanced at the phone on my nightstand, its insistent buzzing a testament to our unusual circumstances. With a pointed look, I met Ash’s gaze. He met it with a knowing, mischievous smile.

Picking up the phone, I took a deep breath before answering, playing along with the game we were entwined in.

“Hello?” I spoke, aware of Ash’s intense scrutiny.

“Hey, Ember. My name is Ash Ortiz.” His voice flowed through the phone, and I narrowed my eyes at him. He gestured for me to continue, his eyes holding a mix of anticipation and amusement.

“Hello, Ash,” I replied, a soft laugh escaping me as I marveled at the absurdity of the situation.

“Tu eres mi mundo, mi sol.” His whispered words shot a thrill down my spine. You are my world, my sun.The impact of it hitting me throughout my entire body.

Ending the call, I placed the phone back on the nightstand. I met Ash’s intense gaze, a cascade of unspoken feelings passing between us.

“Ash?” I said, my voice just above a whisper. His phone was tucked away, his shirt already discarded. The air between us seemed to sizzle with an electric charge, each passing moment intensifying the magnetic pull between us.

“Fucking kiss me already,” I breathed out, the urgency finally breaking through the tension. Swift as a heartbeat, he closed the distance between us. Lifting me with confident ease, he pressed his lips to mine.

The kiss was an avalanche of sensations—each touch, each movement, a revelation. It felt like a homecoming, a moment of truth we had been longing for. Amid all the uncertainty of my life, there was one undeniable truth—Ash and I shared a connection which transcended everything else.

His hands grabbed around my thighs, and I wrapped mine in his hair as his tongue slipped into my mouth. In an instant, his alcohol-soaked tongue was fucking mine, thrashing around, desperate to taste more.

His hands went up, pulling up at the hem of my shirt while the other one touched my folds.

“You were dreaming about me, weren’t you, mi amor?” I pulled back to gaze into his emerald orbs.

“Maybe . . .”

“You missed me inside of you.” It wasn’t a question, more a statement as his fingers circled my clit.

I rolled my head back and let out a small moan. “Ash, I am so desperate for you.”

He tossed me onto the bed, unzipped his pants, then he was on top of me. I looked down at him, soaking in the vision of him wrapped in the warm moonlight.

His body was built like it belonged in a museum. His abs were sculpted, his shoulders broad. His skin was a beautiful golden color flecked with swirls of tattoos. A tattoo I hadn’t noticed above his heart before caught my eye.

“Is that a bat . . .like the flying animal?” I asked, looking closer. It was beautiful. Dark ink surrounded what looked like a bat flying out of a blacked-out den.

“Yeah. We all have it. If you are part of the Den after freshman year, you get tatted.” I ran my fingers along it before trailing toward his boxers.

“Take them off,” I demanded, and he slid out of them. His cock was hard and ready, dripping with precum. “I should make you beg for it.”

A low laugh escaped his lips. “Oh, yeah? And I should punish you for saying that, bad girl.”
