"Good girl," Cole murmurs, his hand caressing where he just spanked. "We're not done yet, though. Are we, Chase?"
I glance over to see Chase's hand moving rhythmically, his eyes dark with desire. "Not even close," he agrees with a crooked grin.
My breath catches. Despite everything, I can't help but feel wanted, cherished even. It's overwhelming, but in the best possible way.
Chapter 29
Grayson
Ican't tear my eyes away from Tessa. She's exquisite, nestled between Chase and Cole on the couch. The warm lamplight casts a golden glow on her skin, highlighting the sharp angles of her jaw and the fullness of her lips. My mouth goes dry as I watch Chase trail his fingers along her collarbone.
"We all need you too much for you to leave," Chase murmurs, nuzzling her neck.
Tessa's eyes flutter closed, a soft sigh escaping her. "Mmm..."
My fists clench at my sides. I've never wanted to share a woman before. The thought of another man touching someone I desired always filled me with white-hot jealousy. But this...this is different. Seeing her with my two best friends isn't dampening my want—it's fanning the flames higher.
Cole's hand slides up her thigh, dipping into her pretty pink folds for just a moment. "Tell us what you want, spitfire."
I swallow hard, fighting the urge to join them. To taste her skin, to feel her tremble beneath my touch.
"I want..." Tessa's voice is breathy. Her eyes open, rolling back in her head. "I want more."
My heart pounds. Chase grins, patting the space beside him. "What do you say, Gray? Care for a taste?"
Cole's hand comes down with a sharp smack on her rear. Tessa moans, her body jerking forward.
"Now, now," Cole's voice is low, dangerous. "I think we need to address something first, don't we, spitfire?"
Cole's fingers tangle in Tessa's hair, pulling her head back gently. "Our little runaway here was planning to leave without so much as a goodbye. Naughty girl."
My stomach drops. But why? I thought everything was good…that she wanted to be here.
"I don't understand," I mutter, more to myself than anyone else. "What severance?"
She bites her lip, refusing to meet my gaze. The silence stretches, broken only by the sound of Cole's hand connecting with her ass again.
I clear my throat, finding my voice. "Ask her...ask her about the severance."
Cole nods, his grip on Tessa's hair tightening slightly. "You heard the man. What's this about severance?"
Tessa's eyes flutter closed for a moment before she speaks. "Juniper was pretty clear about what Grayson wanted. I figured it was best to make a clean break."
The words hit me like a punch to the gut. Juniper?
I clench my fists, feeling a wave of anger wash over me. How dare she? How dare Juniper? I look at Cole and Chase, seeing the same fire in their eyes that I feel burning in my chest.
"You were going to leave just because Juniper said so?" I growl, taking a step closer. "Without even talking to us?"
Tessa's chin lifts defiantly, but I can see the uncertainty in her eyes. "I thought it was for the best. I didn't want to cause any more trouble."
"Trouble?" Chase scoffs. "Sweetheart, you have no idea what trouble is."
I can't take it anymore. The thought of her leaving, of never seeing her again, it's too much. Before I know what I'm doing, I'm surging forward, my hand tangling in her hair. I pull her head back, forcing her to look me in the eyes.
"Juniper doesn't speak for me," I say, my voice low and intense. "I want you here. I want you in my home. I want you in my life. I want..." I hesitate for a moment, lost in the depths of her stormy eyes. "I want you."
And then I'm kissing her, pouring all my frustration, desire, and need into the kiss. Her lips are soft against mine, and for a moment, I forget everything else. It's just me and Tessa, and the electric current running between us.
