As my head tips back, I hear him rumble out his appreciation. “So that’s how it is between us?”

“How’s that?”

“We’re a freight train of passion.”

“We are,” I look down as his hand slips between my legs.

That’s when a knock sounds at the door. “Mr. Kincaid.”

Luke’s head snaps up, his eyes narrowing. “Yes?”

“Mr. Kincaid is on the phone, sir. He’d like to speak with you.”

Luke stands, a rumble sounding from his chest. Pouring more bodywash into his hand, he starts washing himself.

“Umm…” I start. “Did you need…”

“I’ll answer in a minute,” Luke replies, his gaze swinging to me, his eyes softening. “You’re all right if I take this call?”

My brows go up. This is an unexpected change. “Of course.”

He scrubs himself, rinses off, and gets out of the shower. “I won’t be long.”

And then he steps out of the shower, leaving me to wash my hair.

Wrapping a towel around his waist, he steps out of the bathroom. I move as quickly as I can.

I’d like to hear this conversation.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Luke

Towel still hungaround my hips, I walk out to my bedroom to find Mike waiting near the door.

I snatch the phone from his hand, as I glare. “Mike.”

“Yeah?” he asks, his hands folding in front of him.

“You’re fired.”

He visibly starts. “But…”

“Get the fuck out of my bedroom.”

He hesitates for a moment before he turns. I step into the hall, noting two more guards in the entry. “No one enters my bedroom without permission.”

And then I walk back in, slamming the door.

“Luke?”

It’s Mason, speaking through the phone.

“Yeah?” I’m not amused with my cousin. I’m certain he told Mike to interrupt me and I’m starting to think my hunch about being a partial prisoner here was correct.

“Mike was just following orders, I needed you?—”

It’s as I thought, but it doesn’t make me feel any better. “This is my house?”
