“And you’re sure you don’t want to talk aboutit?”

“I’m sure, but thanks for asking. Maybe someday I’ll tell you the sad tale of Tanya and Aidan and the relationship that wasn’t meant tobe.”

“Sounds sad,” I observed.

“It is,” she agreed.

With Tanya obviously wanting to leave the subject of she and Aidan behind, I thanked her for helping meout.

“I don’t know that I told you anything you wouldn’t have come to on your own,” she answered and I laughed.

“Yeah, but it would have probably taken me five more days to come to the conclusion you made me face up to in 30 minutes.”

“Don’t overthink things Aoife. You like Eoin, he likes you. Just enjoy each other, yeah?”

“Yeah,” I answered, my mind racing with all the various ways that could play out. “I’lltry.”

“Good. Call me soon and let me know how things are gettingon.”

When we hung up, I felt lighter for having the weight of my decision lifted from my shoulders. But I was nervous too, because now I had to make sure Eoin still wanted to be withme.
