He huffs again. “You already know everything we have. Nobody broke in and stole it. The security system would have alerted us if they did.”
“The way it alerted us to what Thea was doing in our rooms?”
He stops pacing and smiles. “Good point.” Walking to the other side of the room to get the clipboard, he says, “Why are we doing this now?”
“To get it out of the way so we can enjoy our break with no distractions. The longer we put it off, the less we’ll want to stop whatever fun we’re having and come here and do it.”
“Another good point. I just have one more question. Why isn’t Pax here too?”
“Did you want to be the one to stay on campus and deal with Eloise?”
“Holden, my man, you are a genius.”
We work in silence for about an hour. Then I ask the question that’s been swirling around in my brain for days now. “Were you serious about Thea?”
“I’m always serious about Thea, but be more specific.”
“When you said she belongs to both of us.”
I’m glad he takes his time answering. That means he’s really thinking about how to respond instead of just going on emotions. “I was serious. I like Thea. I want her, but I can tell you like her too, and I think she’d fit right in with us. Pax too, if he stops being all confrontational and broody long enough to realize what a gift she is.”
“The night they were drugged, how was he with her?”
“Totally wrapped up in it. He’s acting like it was a chore, but I know he had a good time, man. None of that just stick it in their ass stuff, either.”
My head jerks around. “What?”
“He was in her sweet, sweet pussy and was In. To. It. She took every inch, man.”
My pulse stutters. A feeling of hope blossoms in my chest. Pax is a big guy, so if she took all of him, maybe she can… I shut that thought down. She might have, but I don’t know what her experience was. It may have hurt her too badly. “How was she after?”
“I don’t know. She was still out of it with the poisoned shot, but she didn’t cry and do all that other shit girls did when Pax was inside them. Of course, that could be because I was working her mouth.”
“And she didn’t freak out about you both being with her at the same time?”
“Not a peep, other than how much she didn’t want us because she hates us. She didn’t even care that Coach Wolfe was there, or that we watched him go down on her when it was over.”
That makes sense with what I know about her. She wouldn’t be shy about having her body exposed. You can’t be shy and fuck your hand in the middle of the forest where someone may walk up and see you.
I miss watching her do that. I miss watching her period. I might need to escalate my plans. She’s slowly coming back around, but I’m getting impatient. I’m not sure how much longer I can keep my urges at bay.
We go back to working in silence and by the time Finn finishes with the inventory list, I’m on my last software upgrade. I can follow its progress remotely, so we exit the bunker and go to our cars to head back to campus.
This time away from campus was relaxing, and our conversation was enlightening. I feel good. I’ll need to hang on to my zen feelings to get me through tonight.
Chapter51
Pax
I’m at lunch, alone for one of the first times ever. Alone, meaning my brothers aren’t here. Eloise and everyone else are. The semester is almost over and I’m looking forward to having some peace and quiet.
Eloise whips her head back and forth, scanning the nearly empty dining hall like she’s looking for something. I know who it is. But I keep my mouth shut. I know better than to start a conversation with her. She’ll never shut up.
My hopes that I’ll get through this meal in silence are dashed the moment she asks, “Where’s Finn?”
“When did I become his secretary?”
Someone down the table says, “I saw him driving off campus on my way here.”
