They should’ve known I don’t. I stand by my decision. She wasn’t who she claimed to be, and I was trying to prove it. Everything I did was to protect us.
Fuck, they really went all out last night. I didn’t want to watch, but there was no way I was leaving and giving her the satisfaction of thinking that seeing her naked, her cunt dripping with her arousal, and that scent, was making me uncomfortable.
So, I sat there. Thinking of a million other things so my dick wouldn’t react to the sight of my friends pounding into her. I sang songs in my head, to block out the sound of their pants and moans, and the noises she made when she was cumming.
I pretended to be bored and let my eyes glaze over instead of focusing my attention on the way she clawed at the sheets. I mastered control of my emotions and facial expressions at an early age, so it was easy to keep my ass in that chair. But when it was over -as soon as I got to my room- I let that control slip, over and over again, in the panties I swiped off the floor, when they were basking in the afterglow.
Sono, I’m not sorry for what I did, and I wasn’t going to pretend to be, just so I could join in. But, after watching them, I can admit I’d definitely fuck Thea again if I was drunk or high, or she just happened to be the closest warm body around. I’d have to gag her though, because I wouldn’t want to hear her mouth, unless it’s screaming my name as I drilled through her cervix.
I scrub a hand through my hair and focus back on my workout. It’s done. It’s over. I’ve already let last night take up too much space in my head. I bend over and pick up the weight restarting my arm curls.
Just as I’m getting in the zone, Eloise comes into the gym. I ignore her as she comes to a stop next to the weight bench. It’s not unusual to see her in the gym. She’s been up here plenty of times to drool over Finn, but that hasn’t been since the start of the school year. Sorority shit keeps her busy and the Zeta Nus take yoga and spin classes at the main gym.
“Looking good, Pax.”
I freeze, with the weight halfway between my thigh and my chest. “What do you want?” I ask, before completing my rep.
“This is why I like you. There’s no lead up. You get right to the point.”
She stands there like she’s posing. I take in her outfit. Some kind of fancy short set with heels. I think they call it a romper. “Flattery isn’t what gets me off. You know that. And if you’re up here looking for someone to tell you how hot you look, go find someone else.”
“That’s precisely why I’m here. I do want someone paying me compliments, and after that little display at the Lady Lions’ party, the other night, I think it’s time I remind you of our deal.”
She’s bringing this shit up again? I’d be more than happy to honor our agreement if I thought she could discreetly take care of my Thea problem. But there’s no way for that to happen now. Not with the council watching.
“We’re gonna have to hold off on that for a little longer.”
She snorts, then laughs. The sound a bit condescending and unhinged. Something like dread starts as a funny feeling in my nose quickly morphing into a knot of discomfort in my stomach. “What’s so funny?”
“You, and the fact that you have the nerve to try to back out of our deal.”
“Nobody’s backing out of anything. I said pause it. Not cancel it.”
“Here’s the thing, Paxton. We can’tpauseit, because I’ve already executed my part.”
“How? By being catty and name calling? I could throw a nickel in any direction and have three dozen students do that with the promise of letting them suck my dick.”
“Men are so stupid.” She huffs. “Haven’t you noticed your little project has an aversion to the athletic stadium and cemetery?”
“No, I haven’t, and so what if she does? Her phobias don’t have shit to do with me or you. And let me squash this shit now, before you start whining to me about Finn’s behavior. He didn’t do anything worth getting bent out of shape over at The Lady Lion’s party. As far as I’m concerned, he was on his best behavior.”
I press on making my point. “Now, I’m gonna tell you for the last time. I’ll hold up my end of the deal, but in case you haven’t noticed, there haven’t been too many opportunities to push him your way. So until we can circle back around to getting rid of Thea, just sit back and chill the fuck out. I’m working on it.”
She saunters forward and shoves her phone at me. “You’re wrong about that, Pax. Her trauma haseverythingto do with me. And because I knew you wouldn’t just take my word for it, I’ve brought you a little proof. Maybe this will motivate you to work faster.” ”
I snatch the phone from her grip and push play. My blood freezes, and that pit in my stomach settles into a lump of cement. My chest tightens. I can barely get out the words. “What the fuck is this?”
“That is a video of some very helpful people responding to your request to take out the trash on Mayhem Night. Just because you decided to bring it back in doesn’t clear you of your part in our deal.”
It’s clear the video is spliced together, but that doesn’t make it less disturbing. Finn’s been looking for answers about Thea’s attack, and something tells me Eloise knew this video existed all this time. She probably knows who recorded it.Goddamnit.If Finn finds out, he’ll never forgive her. Or me.
I can’t let him find out. Eloise won’t hesitate to use this to her advantage. She’s not just up here negotiating because she wants Finn. This is personal. She wants to get rid of Thea because she sees her as competition. Finn’s not easy to forgive, and he’s been looking for an escape clause. His marriage contract to Eloise is set, and if he tries to back out, it’ll have lasting repercussions on his entire family line.
What is Eloise planning to do with this footage? You know what, it doesn’t matter, because I know whatever she plans won’t be good and will make us look inept. It’s been two months and we had no clue it existed.
I need to find some way to stall her. Buy some time and keep this from getting out. Once again, I’m wishing Thea had stayed gone. Everything would be so much easier if she had. I don’t like Thea. I don’t trust her, but I never would have ordered this. The way she’s screaming, in that coffin...
“What the fuck?”
