“Thank you.”

It’s my turn to look away. “I hate to say this, and I will deny it if it ever gets back to him, but Pax is right. If this paperwork is such a big deal, you need to take the time to have this conversation with your future partners before you have them naked and squirming on the bed.”

“Future partners?”

“Ye-es.” I drawl.

“What future partners, Thea?”

“The next girls that’ll be blessed with the gift of that pierced weapon in your pants.”

“There won’t be any other women seeing my piercings.”

“Nothing wrong with celibacy. Sure, wait until your parents tell you that they’ve found the perfect girl, and you’re ready to do it again.”

“I have no intentions of denying my sexual urges. My cock will be getting a workout on a frequent basis.”

“Lucky guy.” He arches a brow. “Lucky hands?” He narrows his eyes. “Look, I don’t know, lucky toys, whatever. My point is-”

He grabs my shirt, yanking me closer. “Go on. Make your point.”

“My point is, I wish you good orgasms, however, they come along.”

“I’ll be having great orgasms in your mouth, that tight pussy, and soon your ass.”

My mouth opens and closes like a fish. I pry his fingers off my shirt to give my brain something to concentrate on other than his words. When I’m able to make words again, I say, “Sure. Sometimes if I’m feeling it, and I don’t have anyone else in the rotation, I’d be down for a little neighborly hook up.”

He steps closer, eliminating the space I’d just reclaimed. “There is no rotation. You need dick. I’m your guy.”

“See, that won’t work for me. I like sex and I get mine when I want it too. I’m not built for sitting at home lonely and horny while some guy I’m supposed to be faithful to fucks his way through campus.”

“Your pussy will be too sore to be useful to anyone else.”

“I’ll soak in that big ass tub I have.”

“Thea, you’re not hooking up with anybody else.”

I drop my face in my hand and growl in frustration. I’m trying to be mindful that this may be a new situation for him. Lifting my head, I try to stay calm as I say, “Look, Holden. I’m not a monogamous type of girl. The fact that I fucked two of your friends should have clued you in on that. I’m not being flippant when I say I like sex. I do. And I like it with different partners. I can’t be tied down to one person. I’d be miserable, bored, and find ways to make their life hell just to get rid of me. So, trust me, it’s better this way.”

“You wouldn’t be bored with me, and Finn and I already talked. He’s okay with you seeing me, too.”

They talked to each other and made this decision instead of talking to me. Typical. “I don’t need Finn’s permission. He and I hooked up a few times, but that doesn’t mean we’re together any more than it means you and I are after you chased me in the woods.”

“And where does Coach Wolfe fit in? Is he just a hook up too?”

“He’s my trainer and whatever that entails is none of your business, just like whatever happened with you and I is none of his, Finn’s or anyone else’s.”

I pluck my shades out of his pocket and say, “I’ve got somewhere to be. Let me know when those documents are ready.”

Chapter79

Thea

I’m humming to myself as I step off the elevator in Vale Tower. LJ comes back tomorrow, and I can’t wait to see her. We have a group chat set up with Sasha, so we’ve been texting or talking every day, but it’s not the same as seeing her face when she’s here.

I’ve had plenty to keep me busy and occupy my time this last week of winter break. I’ve been doing extra training sessions with Deacon and taking short hikes through the heavily used run trails in town. The one and two-mile treks in the middle of the day with the tourists and locals have helped me rediscover my love of hiking. I’m not ready to go on a long walk in the dark, but the thought of being in the woods no longer makes me break out in a cold sweat.

The lobby and sidewalk are full of suitcases and boxes from the students who are already returning to the dorms. The sounds of laughter, squeals and chatter taints the quiet peace I’ve gotten used to. Of course, the loudest voice of all is Eloise’s. My plan is to walk by and ignore her, hoping she’ll choose to do the same. We can restart our feud next week when classes resume, and she has a full audience present.
