“You did. But I told you too, and I liked it.”

“He doesn’t believe that.”

“What’s he want? Proof? I can pull off my drenched panties and give them to him.” She tips her head back to look at me. A devious smile on her lips. “Or pull my pussy lips apart and let him see it up close.”

“Don’t you dare,” Finn growls.

Thea teases, “Dare what?”

“Pull that pretty pussy out, right here.”

“Why not?”

He rolls his eyes at her. “We’re not deep enough in the woods. It’s one thing for someone to walk up on you giving Holden head. But he’s just calmed down. He’ll probably kill someone if they accidentally see or smell that sweet pussy.”

“You’ve seen it and he hasn’t killed you.”

I grumble, “Sometimes I think about it.”

She tilts her head back to look at me. “Really? He’s your best friend. One of the Coxsuckers. I thought it was all for one and all that jazz.”

“He is, but since your attack, I feel a tad homicidal when it comes to you.”

She turns in my arms. “I’m gonna tell you like I’ve told Finn. I can take care of myself.” She rises on tiptoe and kisses me. It’s quick and sweet, and over before I realize it’s happened. It’s also not at all appropriate for the conversation we’re having.

“But I appreciate you using your fist to apologize.” She takes my hand and drags me back onto campus. “Let’s go have some tea.”

I let her lead me, staring at where our hands are connected the entire time.

Chapter76

Pax

My phone chimes with a message from Finn that he and Holden are heading back to the dorms. He’s finally answering my texts, but I’m still pissed off. I had to do damage control for the beat down Holden gave Leo.

I walked up on the end, but enough people told me it was over the troublemaker. Then he took off with her, still raging, with only Finn to handle the situation.

When he didn’t answer, I didn’t know what to think. But now he’s saying they’re heading back. He didn’t have to knock Holden out and they’ll be in Holden’s room making tea. Tea!

I step through the door, ready to intervene, but things look normal. Holden’s at his stove, the tea kettle is on, and he’s flipping through the tea bags. Thea’s on the couch next to Finn like she belongs here.

“He’s fine.” Finn says from his spot on the couch.

“How? Because that beat down looked like Holden went nuclear. He’s gonna need something stronger than chamomile tea to take the edge off.”

Thea snorts. “Relax. He’s already had his stress reliever. The tea’s for me.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Finn chuckles, because he’s in on the joke.

She sasses, “It means Holden’s fine. He doesn’t need you to come in here and treat him like he’s not.”

It’s time we have this out once and for all. Now that we’re all here, maybe they’ll see her for what she is. Dangerous to everything we’ve built over the years.

“You’ve been here five minutes and have been stirring shit up since the beginning. Do you have any idea what happens when Holden loses control? No. You sit there and spin him up and then run off when you see the damage you’ve caused.” I slam his pills on the table. “Here Holden.”

“What are those?” Thea sniffs, suspiciously.
