I don’t know why I’m asking, but I say, “Number Three, does option two include bloodshed?”
“Some.”
Good enough for me. “Come on crybaby, pick door number two. Show me how much of a man you really are.” I say, heckling the guy.
Pax mumbles, “She’s like a female Finn.”
I’ll take that as a semi-compliment. When he’s not being a total dick, and we’re playing our little one-upmanship games, I’m a knife boy fan.
The wall of muscle parts and I push my way to the front in time to see the guy walking away.Dammit.No bloodshed.
A hand lands on my arm and spins me around, dipping me backward. I clutch onto Finn’s arms to keep from falling over.
“Pet, what have I told you about that mouth?”
“I don’t know. Which time do you mean, Number Three? Is it the time you told me how good it felt?”
Finn growls, straightens up, lifts me up by my ass and turns towards the building. I yell over his shoulder. “Austin, I can’t believe you’re letting him manhandle me like this. What happened to all that protection from a few minutes ago?”
He chuckles and shakes his head. “I’m not sure you mind him manhandling you right now. If I thought you did, I’d flatten his ass.”
I nod once. That’s good enough for me. I wrap my legs around Finn’s waist while he walks. I don’t know what the hell has gotten into these guys today, but I’m amused enough to let it all play out. When we get inside, Finn lowers me to the ground and points to the elevator. “Go to your room, Pet, and stay the fuck out of trouble.”
Why does he keep saying that? I don’t go out looking for trouble, trouble looks for me. He walks out of the building and leaves me standing here like he expects me to obey.
I’m going to my room because that’s where I was headed before all this happened, and not because he told me to.
The Sovereign Shrew enters the lobby seconds after Finn exits. “I told you to keep your grubby fingers away from my man.”
I rub my eyes, tired of the drama. “I touched a lot of guys today. You’ll have to be more specific about which one belongs to you.”
“Them.” She hooks her thumb towards the door. “The Trium. Finn, Pax and Holden are legacy heirs. They don’t fuck commoners.”
“Right, and which one is yours?”
“The one you touched.”
“Well, today, Itouched Holden, and the last time ItouchedFinn. Does your ownership shift from one day to the next? Or do they share you?”
Her mouth gapes open.
“Hey. I’m not kink shaming. I mean, go girl. If I had to pick between them, I’m not sure I’d be able to either.”
That last part has someone else speaking up. “You wouldn’t pick Finn over, Holden?”
Why’s she saying it like it’s the dumbest thing she’s ever heard? “No, I would. Not. Just like I wouldn’t pick Holden over Finn. They’d have to get in the ring and fight it out. The last man standing gets me.”
Eloise taunts, “They wouldn’t fight over you. They wouldn’t even want you.”
“Is that supposed to hurt my feelings? Because it doesn’t. It’s not about what they want. It’s about whatIwant, and if I wanted them, I’d have them. Keep that in mind the next time you want to order me to stay away from someone.”
I flick my fingers. “Now run along and wax something painful, will you?”
The doors slide open again. Eloise looks over to see Finn staring at us. She hisses, “Watch your back, bitch,” then pivots around and walks away.
I head over to the elevator, laughing my ass off at her threat. Watching my back is the story of my life.
