Maybe now that Finn’s succeeded in his quest, he’ll get his head back in the game. I stifle a groan when I see Eloise waiting for me outside of class. I don’t have time for her shit today.
“Pax, I know you see me standing here.”
I keep walking. If she has something to say to me, that’s not the way to get me to listen. All the bitches in this school are going crazy. No one would dare speak to me like that before Thea came here.
“Pax!”
In the blink of an eye, I’m on her, slamming her into a wall.
“The only time I wanna hear a walking cum box yell my name like that is if I’m pumping my dick into said cum box. If you need an audience with me, act like you’ve got some fucking sense.”
She nods her understanding, but I slam her against the wall once more for good measure. It’s not even her I’m upset with, she’s just here. “Now what do you want, Eloise?”
I loosen my grip, and she straightens, smoothing out the wrinkles in her shirt. “We need to discuss how to move forward with our agreement.”
“What agreement?”
“I take care of your Thea problem and you take care of my Finn problem. I don’t feel like you’re holding up your end of the deal.”
“Our deal was for her to be thoroughly and completely humiliated, so she’d learn her place. She dropped out of pledge season, and appears to be standing taller than ever.”
“Her quitting pledge season doesn’t change our terms. I’m still holding up my end of the bargain. Shewillbe on her knees, crying and begging for mercy.”
She points to me. “I don’t know what kind of shit operation you’re running, but if you don’t get Finn back on track, Zeta Nu just might have to wonder if Rho Beta Psi is worthy of our time and support.”
“You’re threatening me?”
“I’m reminding you that everything here is built on tradition. It would be a shame if the current Trium was the reason those traditions were no longer upheld.”
It would signal to the council that we’re inadequate leaders. Zeta Nu is made up of more than thirty percent of legacy daughters. Their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, were all members, just like the brothers of Beta Psi.
“It doesn’t matter what I say to Finn if you’re walking around being confrontational with him all the damn time.”
“I’m not confrontational. I’m demanding respect for my status. I’m not some common skank. I told you, the three of you need to show me more respect.”
I owe her nothing, but the frat needs her support. She’s still going through her re-qualification and if she wins, we can’t afford to have alienated her. I can’t make an official stand as a Beta Psi member, but my public treatment of her will go a long way.
“I don’t know what any of us have done that can be considered disrespectful.”
“That bitch being close enough to Finn to wager anything, for one. How did that even happen?”
“They’re in a class together. You know Finn, he’s a jokester. This one obviously backfired on him. It’s no big deal.”
“I don’t want them friendly and dealing. I don’t want her near him in class or anywhere else. Finn’s,mine.”
“Maybe you should focus less on him being yours, and more on you being his.”
“What the hell does that even mean? I’m his. I’m his future wife.”
“It means if you don’t give Finn a reason to want to publicly claim you as his, nothing I say or do will matter.”
I step away, done with this conversation. This is ridiculous. I didn’t sign up to be a fucking relationship counselor. I suck at it because I don’t do relationships. None of us do, but Finn would be good at it.
Eloise just tries too damn hard on some things and not enough on others. Finn’s bored, and she needs to figure out how to combat that. I have a few ideas, but I doubt she’d take advice from me.
Holden texted that they’re already heading to The Rock. I’m just crossing The Circle when my grandfather steps out of the alcove on the side of the Admin Building.
