“Um. The only thing pathetic around here is your ongoing need to tear others down, oh, and your fixation on me.”

“Tell me something,Jordy…” I force myself not to cringe at the sound of that name rolling off her tongue. “How does it feel knowing no one will ever see you as more than a hole to fill?”

“About the same way it feels for you to know that nobody will ever think of you as more than a sadistic bitch. You’ve adapted, so I figure I can too.” Glancing over my shoulder I ask, “Is there a reason for this little heart to heart or is seeing me really getting you off? The pictures you sent Robbie weren’t enough? Pull out your phone. I’ll let you get a clear shot of my tits.”

“Oh, I’ve got cinema worthy footage of those and a lot more. How much do you think I could get for them? Or better yet, how much can your mother afford to lose to keep them from going public?”

My back stiffens. Yup, the bitch went there. She thinks she’s untouchable and so far she has been. The thing with Bella is she’s so good at stirring up shit and having others take the fall that you can never prove she’s involved. But if I can find out about Penn’s professionally hidden dirt, I can find hers. I just need a little more time.

“Finally, have your attention, don’t I?”

I nod because the only way to lure her into a false sense of security is by letting her think she’s got me blocked in.

“Good, now listen and listen good. I don’t care what kind of deal you struck with the dean, this is your last semester here. If you want to drop out before it’s over, even better. But either way, this little thing you’re doing. Hanging with the grad students, meeting influential people in town. That shit stops now. Go to class, to work and to your room, and stay the hell out of my way.”

“Is this about Logan? Because you know better than anybody that, that shit is over. I’m not in your way.”

“Logan?” She laughs. “God, Logan is the least of my issues with you. I told you, you being born is the problem I have with you, and if you think I’m going to let you stay here stirring up shit, think again. One false move, and mommy gets the file. Are we clear?”

I nod again. Watching as she flicks her hair and flounces off with her army in tow. Bella was further down the list of people I was focusing on, because ultimately my plan was to let her friends tear her down the way she does everyone else. But after what she just threatened, she’s earned herself a more personalized type of destruction.

Logan and I sit on opposite sides of the room in art class. Today, he’s back in Gredin’s seat, which can only mean he wants to coerce me into doing something. He won’t have to try too hard. I’ve been distant these last few days, and today is the day I pretend to give in.

“I see you’ve crossed international airspace.” I tease, sliding onto my stool.

“I had to, since I’m mounting a rescue mission.”

“Who needs rescuing?” I ask rearranging my brushes and checking my paint levels.

“You do.”

“From?”

“From whatever you’re doing tonight.”

“I like what I have to do tonight. I’ll be studying and working on my article.”

“You’ll like doing me better.”

My head snaps up, and my brows lift. “Changed your mind about letting me…”

He considers his choice of words, narrowing his eyes at my insinuation. “I told you, it’s never gonna happen.”

I shrug, unbothered by the growl in his voice. If he can ask all the time about fucking my ass, I can ask about playing with his. He’s so adamant about this no, that I’m determined to figure out a way to make it happen. His doctor won’t be the first person up there. I’m going to be the one with that honor.

“What’s so funny?”

I shake the thought from my head. “Nothing.”

“We’ll have dinner. At the studio.”

“What’s wrong with the cafeteria?”

“Health code says I can’t strip you naked there.”
