His finger lifts my chin and when I’m face to face with him, I notice he is studying me. Time seems to stop as we study one another. He is right at six feet, which is easy to tell
next to my five and a half feet. His ash blond hair is well trimmed, but no part. His face is baby smooth, with no sign of facial hair. However, it’s his eyes I get lost in. They are the shade of blue, like the Mediterranean ocean near shore. They seem to suck me in like an ocean current would as well.
Suddenly, his lips are pressed against mine, and I am gone. They are soft at first and become more forceful and demanding. His hands wrap around me and pull me by my ass against him. I moan into his mouth as I feel his manhood throb between us.
Panting, he breaks the kiss and one hand releases me. “What are you called?” He signs. I pull at his shirt, needing to feel his skin.
“Skia and you are…?”
A voice calls out, making me jump, “Evangelos, where are you, cousin?” That sobers me up fast.
However, he still holds me close with one strong hand. I’m beginning to doubt Evangelos is his name until he whistles, and I jump. Right into my chamber’s bathroom. I have never been so grateful to have been within the shadows while we… made out. Was him kissing me a trick? A trap? No, it couldn’t be. I felt his erection. That can’t be faked.
Looking in the mirror, I study my face. My cheeks are flush and my lips swollen. Once my breathing is back to normal, I decide to strip and shower. Then I need to sleep for a bit before I tell Lord Proto what I learned. Visiting him like this would not be a good idea.
Chapter Seven
Evangelos
What have Idone? I kissed a demon. In my defense, she is hot as…well, hell. There is something about her I just couldn’t resist. In all my years as an angel, no female has ever elicited the response she has. Yes, I am a virgin, but here on earth, away from Him, it has never happened. No woman has caused my manhood to rise like she does. What can this mean?
Andras pats my back. “There you are. We were worried something happened to you.”
Rolling my eyes, I sign, “She was here, and you scared her off. I was trying to get information.” Throwing my hands up, I head for our flat.
My cousins catch up, both talking at once. As I walk, I answer them, “Yes, the demon. Yes, the one who whooped our butts. She mentioned her high lord, but his name is Proto. Could he have changed his name?”
We round the corner on the edge of the park and come to a stop. A devil is seducing a woman. He has his claws buried into her sides and is driving his cock into her. His teeth are sunk into her neck. She is not screaming and from the looks of her, she is barely alive.
Andras bursts past me and rips the devil off of her. “Spawn, return to Hell or die!” The female falls from where she is pinned, and I rush to her while Raguel joins Andras.
She gurgles on the blood in her mouth and lungs one last time and I watch the light fade. Reaching in my pocket I pull out a bottle of Heaven’s water, holy water, and bless her soul as it departs. Lucifer will not get her now.
Standing, I turn in time to see the devil banished back to Hell. Both only have minor scratches, but they must be cleaned soon. “We need to get you both to the flat and cleaned up,” I sign.
Andras looks at one of the scratches. It is bubbling like acid was poured on it. “No time.” He rips his shirt and I pour a few drops of the Heaven water on it. He then cleans and wraps the wound with his ripped shirt.
Raguel says, “Mine will be fine until we are back at the flat. Why are mine not bubbling?”
“My guess is his blood dripped on the wound.” Andras has a puzzled look on his face. “Let’s return to the flat. We need to get cleaned up. Then we talk about the demon.”
Once back, Andras heads for the however first, since his arm is still red. By the time he is out, I have a bandage ready and some salve we brought when we jumped. He puts on some gray sweats and sits at the table. He knows the routine. Grabbing his arm, I apply salve and a dressing.
That done, I pull out my phone and order from the deli down the road. It is open late thankfully. By the time Raguel is out, the deli delivery is at the door. I give the girl a smile and take the food. We have an account with the owner and pay out the bill once a month. The tip is not included, so I hand her a five and she leaves.
Passing out the sandwiches, no one speaks. I am halfway through mine when Andras breaks the silence. “A devil… this close. We need to move. I was hoping to find Puriel before wehad to move again.” He puts his head in his hands. He grows tired. We all do.
Tapping the table, they both look at me. “We may not need to. The demon… Skia…”
Andras perks up. “You know her name?”
Raguel joins in on tossing out questions. “Skia? What else did she say?”
Shaking my head, I take a deep breath. “I got very little information. You boneheads interrupted us and scared her away.”
My cousins look at each other, then at me. “Proto,” is all I sign and wait. “The first?” Raguel asks.
I nod. “She said, the High Lord Proto. It must be Puriel, right?”
