I glared at him, my gaze cutting through him like a blade. Right now, I was ready to kill anyone without hesitation, and Angelo was definitely on the wrong side of that line.

“I never agreed to be made a fucking fool of.” My voice dropped another ten degrees as I sped up, the rage fueling every second.

“Family comes first, Maddox. Don’t forget that.”

His words echoed in my head—the same ones my father drilled into me over and over until they were inked into my fucking brain.

I laughed bitterly at his words now.

Family.

That word felt so far away from me, like it belonged to someone else.

We reached our destination shortly after that.

The hotel was surrounded by his guards, just like his room. His men nodded, clearing the way for us to enter and as soon as I saw my father’s smug smile, the blood in my veins surged with rage.

Angelo gave me a quick glance. He knew what was coming next.

“Maddox, Angelo, I—”

I raised my finger to cut him off, and the room fell into a chilling silence. The temperature dropped to absolute zero in a heartbeat.

“Shut the fuck up and tell your pathetic men to leave the room before I kill every one of them.”

His smile vanished quickly. His men stared at each other, no one daring to say a word. Martin raised a hand, and with a simple gesture told them to leave the room.We were left alone after seconds.

My father glanced at me, raising an eyebrow.

“What’s this all about?” he asked, having the audacity to look confused. “You need to learn to control your mood swings, Maddox.”

I laughed, but we both knew nothing good followed that laugh.

“Did you take Allyn away from her real family?”

I went straight to the point. I wasn’t here for bullshit family bonding talks. My anger sliced through the silence, catching my father off guard.

“For once in your fucking life, don’t be a pussy and tell the fucking truth.”

Martin King isn’t the most honest man you’ll come across— I know thatfrom experience. But I never expected him to stoop so low—to lie and manipulate his own family like this.

He looked completely stunned, caught off guard, and that only fueled my anger more.My father said nothing, refusing to confirm or deny it, his silence making the weight of his guilt even heavier.

I narrowed my eyes, my fist clenched so tight it almost hurt.

“Allyn Romano,” I hissed, the words tasting bitter on my tongue. “That’s her real name, isn’t it, father?”

He blinked a few times, likely weighing his words carefully. He knew what was coming next—just like a guilty man would.

Not today. I’d had enough of his lies.

In an instant, I grabbed him by the collar of his suit, slamming his body into the nearest wall. Rage consumed me. Everything around me went dark.

I heard Angelo’s voice behind me, but he knew better than to interfere. He knew what I was capable of.My father knew too. He turned me into this monster, and now he was paying the price.

I slammed him harder into the wall, and he hissed in pain.

“Talk,” I growled, my voice cold and dangerous. “Or I swear I’ll break your skull.”
