But between his dirty words, he didn’t forget to remind me how much he loved me.He whispered it in my ear as he came all over my stomach with my name on his lips. And I didn’t forget to remind him that I love him twice as much.We were so deeply into each other that I no longer know where I begin and where he ends.
But it doesn’t matter as long as we had each other.
Maddox King was the reason I learned that love isn't just ink on a page; it was a fierce storm that can either sweep you away or leave you shattered
And I had found a love in his eyes.
A love so fierce, raw, and beautifully chaotic.
Love that made every risk worth taking.

Six months later
“I’m bringing bad news, brother.”
Angelo burst into my office, looking more serious than usual.
I glanced up from the pile of documents I was going through, leaning back in my chair.
If Angelo’s barging in uninvited, it was never a good sign. He may had been my right-hand man and brother by blood, but he knows the rules.
He had earned his place, but still, barging into my office uninvited is a privilege reserved for Allyn, and Allyn only.
I raised an eyebrow, not even hiding the sarcasm in my voice.
“I like starting my day with bad news,” I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest.
It was only ten in the morning, but I was already over the day. I just wanted to get home to my fiancée.
Angelo sat down on the couch across from me, straightening his suit as he leveled me with that look. The kind of look older brothers give when they know you’ve messed up—hard.
Oh, this was going to be good.
“Looks like you’ve made some powerful enemies.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at his choice of words.
Tell me something new.
Everyone hated The Kings. Comes with the territory of power. Since Martin’s death, when Angelo and I took over, the King family had returned to the heights we were always meant for—before Martin ruined it all.
“Nothing that can’t be fixed,” I added dismissively, leaning forward in my chair. “The easy way, or the hard one. Either way, we’ll handle it.”
Angelo rubbed his temples, his eyes narrowing with irritation.
“You killed Garrett Stone’s son,” he pointed out. “I highly doubt you can smooth this over with a few negotiations.”
I paused for a second, considering it. Then, I smirked.
“Then we’ll succeed with violence.”
Angelo let out a long sigh, slapping his forehead as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
“You’re going to be a goddamn father soon, Maddox.” He ran a hand through his hair, clearly done with me.“I thought you got wiser, you idiot.”
I couldn’t help the grin tugging at my lips.
