Noah glanced from Dean to Logan. Dean lowered himself to the ground then pulled Noah into his lap. Even in human form, Noah was smaller than the rest of them. Barely five-foot two.

Dean scooted over until he and Noah were against Logan’s side before he gently caressed his mate’s face.

“Cupcake,” Dean cooed. “It’s time to wake up.”

Logan’s nose twitched.

“Come on, pretty,” Dean encouraged. “Open your eyes for me.”

Slowly, Logan blinked before he was peering at Dean. His smile was blinding bright. So happy. “My two favorite people.” He nuzzled Dean’s throat before kissing Noah’s forehead.

“Aww,” Gage cooed. “He loves them already.”

Logan turned a pretty red color before he sat up. He looked at Gage and Lucifer before ducking his head. “Sorry, it’s not that you’re not my fav—”

“No explanations are needed, young lion,” Lucifer said. “Your mate and familiar should be your favorite. No one would fault you for that.”

“O…okay.” Logan shuffled closer to Dean.

“It’s fine, cupcake,” Dean whispered. The others could still hear him, but they at least pretended otherwise. “Are you hungry? Drake’s making steak.”

That perked Logan up. “With mac and cheese?”

“I don’t know,” he confessed. If his boy wanted mac and cheese, then he would get it. Dean knew a homemade recipe.

“Let’s go get our boy out of the playset,” Lucifer said to Gage.

“He’s been having fun. I’m glad he has little friends.”

Dean let the two go off, talking and teasing each other as they headed for the boys playing. Glancing down, he checked that Logan hadn’t fallen back asleep against his shoulder.

No, his boy was awake although he was still sleepy.

Logan and Noah had their fingers entwined and it warmed Dean’s heart. When Noah had told Logan about Dean’s past relationships, he hadn’t been able to keep the hurt out of his voice.

It didn’t matter how much Dean had told his previous partners that nothing sexual had ever happened between him and Noah—there always came a point in time when the issue would be make or break. Like Dean would have chosen any of them over Noah. They should have known that.

He didn’t have to worry about how Logan would react. Without needing any explanation, Logan had opened his heart to Noah. Accepted the familiar as his own.

The perfect mate.

Dean vowed, as he closed his fingers around Logan’s and Noah’s, that he would help in any way so others would know this absolute feeling of perfection.

Logan

Fresh out of the shower, Logan lay in bed as he watched Dean. His mate walked around the mattress, gazing at him. He was naked but Logan didn’t feel vulnerable. Not with the heat in Dean’s gaze. The scent of his arousal.

They had the suite to themselves as Noah was spending the night with Lucifer and his mates on Lucifer’s personal plane.

Daddy had decided it was time to make good on his promise. Dean was going to pierce Logan.

He was both nervous and excited.

Having any part of his body pierced had never dawned on him. Even though Levi owned a tattoo shop and Logan had met the piercer on staff, Logan had never considered letting anyone do that to him. Anyone other than his mate. Dean grinned as he set down a towel with the needles and jewelry.

Logan glanced over.
