The music was low in the main lounge allowing for conversation. Other parts of the club would be busier, louder, and have scenes going on. The main floor held the bar and most scenes were played out elsewhere.
Byron ran his hand down Mitch’s back soothing his boy.
Grant and Caleb walked into the lounge and he nudged Mitch.
Caleb was hiding behind Grant’s back and the boy’s eyes were wild. It would be the first time Caleb wore one of his pretty outfits in public and the boy was terrified. That was why Byron had agreed with taking Mitch out when they’d been so comfortable at home.
Mitch removed his paci. “Can you let me out? Caleb’s gonna freak any second.”
As Byron slid out of the booth. Caleb did indeed seem about to freak. He dropped Grant’s hand and whirled around.
Grant, however, didn’t let Caleb go far.
Grant lifted Caleb off his feet and held him tight. Grant spotted them and started to walk over. Caleb hid his face in Grant’s neck, shaking.
When Grant reached them, Mitch stepped around Byron and went to his friend. Mitch wrapped his arms around Caleb which had him hugging Grant as well.
“Hey Caleb,” Mitch whispered.
Byron stepped closer to help if he was needed.
“Hi Mitch,” Caleb said his voice muffled. He didn’t lift his head.
“You look so beautiful,” Mitch told him. “I love that color pink. And are you wearing your slippers? I helped Grant pick them out. Do you like them?”
Caleb finally lifted his head but didn’t loosen his hold on Grant’s neck. “I love my slippers. I didn’t know what to wear with my pretties before. Now I have seven pairs of ballet slippers. Seven! All different colors.”
“Cool!” Mitch lifted his food. He wobbled and Byron had to help hold him upright. “My Daddy bought me new shoes.”
Caleb peered down at the light-up Transformer tennis shoes that Mitch hardly ever took off. He even wore them around the house all day.
“Look!” Mitch dropped his foot and then jumped around. The lights along the sides dancing.
“Oh my God!” Caleb cried. “They light up.” He squirmed out of Grant’s hold and Grant set the boy down.
Mitch grabbed Caleb’s hand making Caleb bounce with him. “My shoes light up and your pretty dress swirls around!” They made a circle. “We’re the cutest boys in here.”
Caleb stopped jumping. “Do you think so?”
“I know so,” Mitch declared.
Caleb grinned and giggled. “Do you think I look beautiful?” He held up the hem of the nightgown.
It was a pale pink that reached just above his knees. He also wore matching stocking and his ballet shoes.
“So pretty!” Mitch answered.
“Very pretty,” Byron agreed. He preferred Mitch in his blue shorts, pull-ups, and Transformer shirt but Caleb was stunning.
Caleb blushed. “Thank you.”
“Michael can’t wait to see you!” Mitch told him. “He was hoping you’d wear one of your outfits.”
Caleb nodded.
“Why don’t we sit pretty baby?” Grant asked. “Michael will find you when he has a free minute.”
“K Daddy.”
