Having the next two weeks off together wouldn’t happen often.
Mitch wanted to spend it with him. Byron wouldn’t make his boy regret his decision.
They passed the main house and continued around to the back.
He could hear Mitch’s excited exclamation at the beautiful grounds. Byron’s friend Stone still had trouble around crowds and with noises. Stone was dealing with his PTSD, having with partners Cole and Colin helped. Byron couldn’t wait to introduce Mitch to his friends.
First, they needed to get settled.
He stopped the bike in front of the porch of the guesthouse and turned it off.
Mitch continued to cling to him.
Byron covered Mitch’s hand with his. “Remember to hold onto me after you climb off the bike. Your legs and ass will still be numb.”
“I won’t forget again.”
The first time Mitch had jumped off the bike in excitement he’d immediately face planted. For someone not used to riding for hours, the road took a toll on the body.
“Good boy,” Byron praised.
Mitch held tight to his arm as he gently climbed off the bike. Byron kept a close eye on him. He’d made the mistake of allowing Mitch to hurt himself once and that wouldn’t happen again. Byron should have known better.
Once Mitch was on the ground he nodded.
Byron slung his leg over and stood next to his boy.
Mitch latched onto his shirt. “It’s so beautiful here.”
“Stone bought this property when he left the Army. He has PTSD or PTSS as it’s now called. He doesn’t handle crowds well. He met his partners after he’d been there for about six months. Cole and Colin are a perfect match for him. This property allows Stone the space and freedom to rest his mind.”
“I can see why.” Mitch’s eyes were still full of awe.
The lush grounds spread out beyond what they could see. There were no close neighbors. Just what Stone needed. Growing up on a ranch Byron could appreciate the property.
“Tomorrow we’ll have more time to explore the grounds. There’s a spot I want to show you.”
Mitch peered up at him. “What are we going to do at this spot?” He even licked his lips, the little tease.
Byron slid his hand down Mitch’s back to cup his ass. “I’m sure I can come up with a few things.”
Mitch beamed.
A throat clearing drew their attention.
Byron turned both him and his boy. On the porch, a young man, still in his paramedic uniform, was smiling at them.
“Sorry to interrupt. I didn’t think you saw me.”
Byron laughed. “We didn’t.” He looked down at Mitch. “Mitch I’d like you to meet Colin. He’s Stone and Cole’s partner.”
“Hello, thank you so much for inviting us.”
Colin smiled at Mitch as he stomped down the wood steps. “It is truly our pleasure.” He held his hand out to Mitch. “I owe this guy for having both my men.” Colin winked as he released Mitch's hand.
“Really?” Mitch appeared intrigued.
Byron shrugged but moved to hug the young man. “It’s good to see you, Colin.”
