“I don’t understand,” Caleb admitted. He looked up to Grant for help.
“Avery in his little mode wears diapers. He loves them but he can get embarrassed. Like you with your pretties.” Grant ran a hand under the lace strap of the cami he wore.
Caleb had allowed Grant to dress him. He wore a purple satin and lace cami as a top with matching panties under his jeans. The jeans had so many holes, mostly in places to show his pretty panties that Caleb suspected Grant had made the holes himself.
“I bet I can help make him comfortable,” Caleb stated. He had a purpose and that made it easier for him. He could help his new friend and not worry about being embarrassed himself. “I’ll have him relaxed in no time!”
“Thank you, Caleb,” Jace said with relief. “He really wants this to work. To have friends.”
“Me too!”
“I think it’s going to be just fine,” Grant said.
Caleb bobbed his head. “I bet he’d like the bubble machine. Let’s go show him.” Caleb tugged on Grant’s hand.
“Okay boy, I’m coming.”
Jace led the way through the kitchen and to a sliding glass door. He stepped out and Caleb followed at his heels and gasped.
The back yard was a boy’s dream! There was a pool, swing set, playhouse, toys, and a sandbox. Currently sitting in the sandbox with a pacifier in his mouth was Avery.
The fear in Avery’s eyes was easy to see.
Caleb dropped Grant's hand and bounced. “Avery! Avery! Hi!”
Avery perked up and waved back.
Caleb ran forward allowing his own little boy to come to the surface. “Guess what!”
Avery climbed out of the sandbox; he tried to run too but it was more of a fast waddle. The diaper easy to see under Avery’s shorts.
Caleb didn’t even lower his eyes. He kept bouncing.
Avery pulled the pacifier out of his mouth. “Hi! I’m glad you came to play.”
“Me too.” Caleb hugged Avery while jumping making Avery jump and giggle. “And we brought a bubble machine!”
Avery whipped his head to the side and stopped jumping. “Oh my God!” he screamed. “Daddy! Daddy!”
“Yes, baby boy?” Jace replied calmly.
“A bubble machine!”
“I heard,” Jace told him. “And I’m standing right next to Caleb’s Daddy who’s holding the box.”
Avery cheered then tackled Caleb in a hug.
They crashed down but luckily the grass was soft. Caleb was laughing as Avery sat on his chest, shaking Caleb’s shoulders, babbling about bubbles. Apparently, his new friend liked bubbles.
“Okay! Okay!” Caleb held up his hands trying to stop laughing. “I can’t breathe.”
Avery grinned but plopped to the side. His leg still over Caleb’s stomach. Caleb grinned back. He wasn’t nervous any longer. He thought that he and Avery were going to be great friends.
“Thank you for bringing the bubble machine.”
Caleb nodded. “Thanks for letting me come over and play.”
“Do you want to see my sandbox?”
