“I can,” Grant said. “And I am.” He didn’t sound angry though.
“There’s a reason that I’m all alone in this big house. Why I don’t have any friends or family that wants to see me.”
“True,” Grant said. “The very first person who had the responsibility to care and protect you failed epically. Then put you in situations that not only failed to enrich your childhood but harmed growth with other children. The people surrounding you were either using you to make you money or were in some sort of competition with you.”
Everything Grant said was true but that didn’t mean there wasn’t something wrong with Caleb. Other child stars had friends.
“To protect yourself you turned inward. Not trusting anyone.”
“Yes but-“ Caleb ran his fingers over the hem of his shirt.
“No buts,” Grant said. “You took back your life. You moved here not knowing a soul. You built this fantastic family with your fur babies. And you started going to the club to find what you were searching for.”
“I…”
“You are a survivor Caleb. I’m so happy that I have gotten to know you. You are smart and kind.”
“I’m really not that smart.”
“Bullshit,” Grant barked. “You’ve been told that but that doesn’t make it true. You don’t have any idea how much I enjoy just talking to you.”
“I don’t deserve all your nice words.”
“You deserve more,” Grant said. “I’ve been taking it slow building our relationship but I don’t think that’s what you need or what I want.”
Caleb frowned. “What do you mean?”
“Unless you tell me no I’m going to take full control of you. It will be a full power exchange. Today we’re going to go over the new rules for you.”
“Rules?” Caleb gulped. He wanted that. To be under Grant’s thumb. To have rules that he had to follow.
Grant leaned forward and picked up his tablet. He pressed a few times on the screen before he handed the tablet to Caleb. Caleb peered down at the screen.
Daddy’s rules for Caleb.
Caleb gasped and looked up at him. If Grant was making rules then he must be sticking around. “You…your…really not leaving me.”
“Pretty baby,” Grant stroked his cheek. “It might be way too soon to tell you this but I’m falling in love with you. When you’re in my arms you are all I want. When you’re not with me then I’m counting down the minutes until I see you again.”
“You’re falling in love with me?” Caleb questioned. Had he heard that right?
Grant chuckled. “Yes, pretty baby.”
“Daddy,” Caleb squealed dropping the tablet and throwing his arms around Grant. “I love you! So much!”
Grant kissed the side of his head. “That makes me very happy.”
“And you are going to give me rules? So I have to follow them? And you’ll check?”
“Yes, we still need to discuss some things though. Then we’ll both agree to the rules. Do you think you can do that?”
“I can!” Caleb assured him. This wasn’t Grant just spending time with him. He loved Caleb and wanted to give him structure and check up on him.
“Let’s talk about last night,” Grant said.
“Oh.” Caleb dropped his shoulders. He’d forgotten about all that.
“I’m going to let you know that one of the new rules will be not going to the club without me unless I tell you to meet me there,” Grant said.
