“Burger time,” Grant told him as he led Caleb across the parking lot to the local hamburger chain.

“And French fries!” Caleb added. He felt light and happy. He felt like the boy he’d always wanted to be. He might not have any sparkles or pretties on but he was still the boy he wanted to be.

“And French fries,” Grant agreed. “I wonder if my boy would like a chocolate milkshake?”

Caleb stopped walking and yanked Grant’s arm back. He just stared at Grant.

“What?” Grant’s smile dropped.

“I’ve never had a milkshake before. My agent said they were too fattening.”

“Well, Daddy says that you’ve been so good that you deserve a milkshake.”

Caleb laughed and jumped around. “Milkshake! Milkshake!”

“Alright calm down. We need to get inside the restaurant first.”

“Okay Daddy,” Caleb responded and started to walk again. “Thank you.”

“You're welcome, pretty baby.” Grant’s eyes were shining but Caleb didn’t have time to worry about that. He was going to get to try a milkshake!

“Come on!” he tugged at Grant’s hand.

“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Grant responded.

Luckily there wasn’t a line and they were shown to their table right away. A bubbly waitress about Caleb’s age stepped up to their table.

“Hey, guys! I’m Amanda, can I get you started with some drinks?”

“Milkshake!” Caleb exclaimed.

Both Grant and Amanda laughed.

“Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, banana, or cherry.”

Caleb sat back in his chair. There were so many choices. He didn’t know what to do. He looked at Grant.

“How about one chocolate and one strawberry,” Grant ordered. “And two glasses of water.”

“You got it.” Amanda skipped off and Caleb turned to Grant.

“I’m sorry,” Caleb said softly. He was such a loser.

Grant covered his hand and squeezed. “You have no reason to be sorry. That’s what I’m here for, remember. Daddy gets to help his boy through new and exciting adventures.”

Oh yeah, Caleb needed to get his head wrapped around the fact that Grant wasn’t like any other man he’d fucked. Hell, he hadn’t even fucked Grant. But Grant wanted to be his Daddy and take care of him. He nodded. “Can I have cheese on my burger Daddy?”

“Of course,” Grant said with a smile. “Any good burger has a mound of melty cheese.”

“K.” Happily, Caleb peered around the restaurant. Of course, another experience he’d never had. Burger, fries, milkshakes? No way would his mom, agent, or anyone in his life have taken him to a place like this. Not even when he was a kid.

Amanda walked back to the table holding two large glasses topped with whip cream and a cherry.

“Oh my God!” Caleb said with delight.

“I thought you would like these,” Amanda told him as she presented them with a flare. Caleb grabbed the chocolate one and sucked on the straw. The flavor burst on his tongue and the coldness hit him immediately. He gasped.

“Brain freeze?” Grant asked with a smile.
