“Eat boy.”
Caleb picked up his thick plastic fork. The plate had divider trays and Grant had made them eggs with ham and cheese, bacon, sausage, and toast. He took a bite of his eggs and grinned. So good.
Grant watched him then nodded when he saw that Caleb was eating. Before he took his own bite Grant winked at him.
Caleb could get used to spending days like this. Just him, Grant, and his fur babies. With cute outfits and toys. It was all he’d ever wanted and now that his wish was coming true it was even better than he imagined.
As he quickly ate his breakfast Caleb was already starting to plan how he’d spend the rest of the day. Grant said it would be up to him and he really wanted to play. But after dinner, he thought they could curl up on the couch and watch movies again.
Maybe Grant would even let Caleb spring for having dinner delivered so he didn’t have to cook. Then they could get to the cuddling even sooner.
Yep, if it was his choice then he’d buy dinner and they’d find a movie to watch on his On Demand. There were lots that he hadn’t gotten to and he wanted to watch them with Grant. It would have to be a romantic comedy because that was what Caleb liked the best.
His fork scraped against the plastic plate and he looked down. He’d eaten his food. Just like a good boy.
“You were hungry,” Grant commented as he finished off the last of his food.
Caleb nodded.
“And you were thinking pretty hard. Is everything okay?” he asked.
“Yes,” Caleb said sincerely. “Everything is perfect.”
“I’m glad.” Grant reached over and cupped his face. “I’ve never been happier either.”
Caleb peered up at Grant from under his lashes. “You promise? I make you that happy?”
“You do boy,” Grant said. He pushed his plate away from the edge before he did the same with Caleb’s. “I made up a lot of excuses on why I hadn’t found my boy. My work, being busy, even that I hadn’t been ready. I was lying to myself.”
Sad at hearing the emotion in Grant’s voice Caleb slid off his stool and onto Grant’s knee. He hugged Grant tight.
“Thank you, boy.” Grant squeezed him back. “The truth was that I never had a connection with a boy. I never felt that overwhelming urge that screamed I needed to take care of someone. Not until I met you.”
“I still can’t believe you want me but I’m not going to question it any longer. I know this is still so new between us but you are everything I’ve always wanted. Not only do you take care of me but you make me feel good on the inside.” Caleb patted his hand over his chest.
“That is the best compliment that anyone has ever given me,” Grant told him.
“I mean it,” Caleb promised.
“Thanks, baby,” Grant gave him a deep kiss.
Caleb didn’t want the kiss to end but eventually, Grant pulled away. “More!” Caleb reached for his Daddy.
“Later.” Grant patted his bottom. “You don’t have to clean up the kitchen today because you earned your princess day so while I do that why don’t you go back and play.”
“Yes!” Caleb threw his arms up happily.
“Go, boy,” Grant urged Caleb down.
Caleb skipped back into the living room. He had a cake to make.

Caleb
Caleb knew he should ignore the call. His fingers shook as he answered it anyway. With how truly happy he was Caleb didn’t want anything to burst his bubble. But this was his mom. Something might really be wrong.
“Hello?” he answered.
