Grant rubbed Caleb’s back as he looked up at met Jace’s gaze. For the first time that night, Jace was watching Caleb with understanding. It appeared that Grant wasn’t the only one seeing a different side of the boy.

Grant wasn’t worried about Jace wanting Caleb for his own. Jace was so in love with Avery that Grant wouldn’t be surprised if his best friend had the boy moving in before summer.

He settled back in his chair and watched as the three boys at the table played. Caleb took breaks to eat his cookies and drink his juice. It was nice. Having a boy there to watch over and care for. It had been far too long.

Caleb would stop coloring and peer behind him at Grant every once in awhile appearing to look for his approval. Grant made certain he provided it each time. The pink blush across Caleb’s cheeks was adorable and Grant couldn’t wait to find out if Caleb blushed like that all over his pale body.

But sex would have to wait.

He’d seen the way that Caleb pushed away from the Doms that he allowed to claim him for a night. Grant wanted more than one night with the boy and as they sat there quietly in the busy club he was already formatting a plan.

Caleb deserved some good old-fashioned romancing and seducing.

The boy would get what he needed.

Caleb

Caleb hadn’t realized how much time had passed until he’d finished his coloring book page and sat up straight. The muscles in his back ached and he groaned.

“You okay boy?” Grant asked as he rubbed, just in the right spot.

Caleb arched and held in a moan of pleasure that time. He nodded to answer Grant’s question. The Doms normally didn’t like it when he spoke but he needed to give Grant an answer.

“Are you done coloring?” Grant asked. This time there was a touch of amusement in his tone.

“Yes sir,” he responded. Caleb wasn’t one hundred percent sure how his night had ended up with him on the lap of the detective but it was a definite improvement to any other night. He’d noticed Grant in the past but the detective normally wore a scowl that most often was directed at Caleb so Caleb hadn’t even tried to tease him. He’d approached him once for sex but Grant had turned him down flat. Caleb hadn’t tried again.

The detective obviously disapproved of Caleb in every possible way, yet he’d come to Caleb’s rescue earlier. Plus, he’d allowed Caleb to sit on his lap for the entire evening and that had not been expected. Even though Grant had never seemed to care for Caleb the night had been fantastic. One that he would remember for a very long time.

“I think it’s time to get a little boy home,” Jace announced as he caught Avery yawning.

“I don’t want to go home!” Avery pouted. “I’m having fun.”

Grant laughed and Caleb tried to hide his jealousy as he watched the Daddy Dom and boy. Caleb wanted a closeness like that. But no one ever cared about getting him home and in bed. No one watched out for him the way Jace took care of Avery.

Jace kissed the top of Avery's head. “It’s time to get home and get in your jammies and ready for bed.”

Avery peered up at his Daddy and Caleb saw the little bit of brat shine through. “Bath? And toys?” Avery asked sweetly.

“We’ll see.” But Jace was grinning. The boy would probably get both a bath and toys.

Caleb checked out Grant from the corner of his eye and was surprised to see the detective looking back at him. Caleb tried to duck his head but Grant caught his chin in his palm.

“I think it’s time for us to go too,” Grant said.

Caleb stiffened. He’d known that Grant would only be putting up with him for one reason. To fuck him. It hurt that he was right.

“Did you drive?” Grant questioned.

“No.” Caleb shook his head. “I used Uber.”

“Great,” Grant tapped his hip so Caleb would climb off him. “I’ll drive you home.”

Caleb climbed down and stood by the side of the table as he waited for Grant to say his goodbyes. He wasn’t nervous about Grant taking him home. He had a routine when it came to his hookups. He never took them to his bedroom but a guest room down the hall.

There was enough of his personal belongings in the guestroom that Caleb didn’t get questioned about the boring room being his. Or the Doms didn’t care enough to ask.

Avery raced around the table and shocked Caleb by throwing his arms around his waist. Caleb jumped, might have squeaked, but managed to stay on his feet and return the embrace. He hadn’t lied when he’d told Avery that he didn’t have friends. He also wasn’t used to being hugged. But it was nice, the way Avery beamed up at him.
