“Remember if I do anything you don’t want, you can stop me.”
His brows furrowed, but Avery bobbed his head.
Jace reached out for one of the zoo-themed diapers. He held it up for Avery to see.
Avery’s eyes grew huge.
“You don’t have to use the diaper, but it will be there just in case,” Jace told him.
Avery didn’t comment. He just stared at the diaper.
Since his boy didn’t complain, Jace patted Avery’s hip so he’d lift his butt. Avery blushed but lifted up. Jace laid the diaper under him and pulled the sides open.
“Down,” he ordered gently.
Avery set his bottom down on the thick diaper, flinched, wiggled, then sucked really hard on his binkie.
“Good boy,” Jace admired. “I am so proud of you. I know it’s not easy trying new scary things but you’re doing it.”
Avery nodded.
Jace grabbed the powder from the shelf and sprinkled it liberally then rubbed it in. He wiped off his hands then closed the sides of the diapers.
Avery gasped and wiggled again.
Jace ran his finger around the waist and legs, making sure the diaper wasn’t too tight. Avery continued to wiggle.
“Okay?” Jace asked.
Blushing, Avery shrugged. Jace suspected Avery wasn’t ready to voice his opinion, but the way the diaper was growing in the front said his boy wasn’t disliking the thick material.
“Now let’s get you dressed,” Jace announced. There would be time for Avery to play with his diaper when his boy was feeling better.
“Giraffes?” Avery asked.
“You want your giraffe jammies?” Jace asked. He knew that Avery would love them. It had been such a great internet find.
“Pllllllease.”
“You got it,” Jace relied. He walked over to the dresser and found the pajamas in the drawer right on top. They were freshly laundered and perfect for comforting his boy. He quickly finished up so Avery wouldn’t grow cold, and when Avery was standing next to the changing table in his full little gear, Jace had to hug him. “Beautiful. You are such a beautiful boy.”
“Yours,” Avery said.
“Yes,mybeautiful boy.” Jace held him tight before stepping back. “I want to get some fluids in you. Do you think you can eat?”
Avery rubbed his belly and shook his head.
“No? Not yet? That’s okay. Do you want to lie on the couch with me or lie in bed?”
“Zoo show?” Avery questioned.
“Good idea,” Jace responded.
“Jared?”
“Let me grab him.” Jace strolled to the bed.
“And Buster Brown.”
