For the first time, Avery let his gaze go over the diapers stacked on the shelf. If he liked the briefs so much, maybe he should consider the diapers? He was still reading everything he could find online about the Daddy/ little lifestyle when he got a break at work or riding the bus, and a lot of littles liked diapers, saying the diapers made them feel safe and when their Daddies changed them, they knew how much they were loved. As wonderful as Jace was to him, Avery couldn’t see Jace leading him to anything that would be bad. And Jace had told him that if he didn’t like something, they wouldn’t do it again.

Avery didn’t have long to worry about it since Jace picked him up and they were out of the nursery. He was placed on the couch and he looked up at Jace.

“Let me get your drink so we can snuggle. I recorded some episodes of that zoo show you liked.”

“You did?” Avery bounced. “Thank you, Daddy.” It was so easy to say that word now. It felt absolutely natural to call Jace Daddy.

“You’re welcome, baby boy.”

Avery picked up Jared from where he was sitting in the middle of the couch. There was also what looked like a brand-new puppy dog, a chocolate lab, that was so cute. He picked up his puppy. What was a good dog name? Even though he’d always wanted a pet, he’d never been able to have one. Growing up in the small two-bedroom apartment with his grandmother, Avery had barely had enough food for a month. There’d been no way they could have afforded a pet. Now Avery was in the same boat, and even if he could afford it, he worked too many hours to allow him time to care for a pet. It was so hard being an adult. None of those thoughts were helping him pick a name, though.

“All right, baby boy,” Jace said walking back in. “Snuggle time.”

Avery filled both arms with his two stuffies and lily before looking up at Jace. That was when he noticed the bottle: Jace was holding a bottle of milk.

He placed the bottle on the end table before settling into the corner of the couch. Jace patted his lap and Avery shyly climbed over with his eyes still on the bottle. He sucked the binkie in his mouth harder with nerves.

Jace helped him get into position with his back to the arm of the couch and his legs over Jace’s lap. Avery cuddled his stuffies to his chest as Jace pulled a soft blue blanket over him.

“Remember, we don’t have to ever do anything that you don’t want to. You just tell me know if you’re ever uncomfortable.”

“I know.” He didn’t want to think about the bottle or how much he actually wanted to try it. Would it be like drinking out of his sippy cup or more like his binkie? If Jace thought that he was ready, then Avery would try. Instead of addressing the bottle, he held up his new stuffie. “Puppy?”

Jace smiled. “Every good boy deserves a puppy. And you are a very good boy.”

“Thank you.” Avery buried his face in Jace’s chest.

“Of course, my boy,” Jace said, rubbing Avery’s back. “It’s my job to present you with treats. One of the best parts.”

Avery pulled back. “I don’t know what to name him,” he confessed. “I always wanted a dog.”

“Well you can name him whatever you want. And it doesn’t need to be tonight. Why don’t you relax, watch your show, and you can think on it?”

“Okay, Daddy.” He settled his cheek on Jace’s pec, loving how he could feel Jace’s heart beating strong.

Jace grabbed the remote and found his show before pressing Play. Then the lamp was clicked off and as his show started, Avery relaxed into Jace’s embrace. Jace wouldn’t steer him wrong, Hell, at this point he probably knew better than Avery did what Avery needed more.

The only light came from the television and he was warm, comfortable, safe, and loved. He blinked his heavy lids to stay awake.

He jumped as Jace removed the binkie. Avery peered up as Jace brought the bottle to his lips. He had a split second to safe word but then the nipple was being rubbed against his lower lip and Avery found himself opening his mouth.

Avery looked back to the television so he didn’t have to think about taking the bottle. But as weird as it was…Avery didn’t mind the bottle, even though it took him a couple of moments to figure out how to get to the liquid inside. Finally, using his tongue made the milk begin to fill his belly as he was soothed by Jace’s soft praise.

As he sucked down the cool milk, he found his eyes closing once again. He couldn’t imagine a better end to such a hard week. The restaurant had called him back and even though Avery had wanted to tell the manager where to stick it, he needed the money. And not being able to sleep had just made him want out of his apartment so he’d picked up more deliveries as well. All week he’d been missing Jace and things just weren’t the same over the phone.

As he let his head drop all the way against Jace, he let the rest of his stress go. He’d gotten bathed, dressed, pampered, and an orgasm. He couldn’t ask for more. He couldn’t wait to see what Jace had in store for him in the morning. He hated that he had to work the next night. A full weekend like they’d had before was what Avery really wanted.

CHAPTER EIGHT

JACE

Jace walked into the club and felt for the first time as if he wasn’t where he belonged. Not that he wasn’t thrilled to be back in the club with his friends, but not having his boy by his side took some of the excitement from the experience.

He spotted Mitch and Grant already at a table in the corner. Grant was decked out in his full leather Daddy gear while Mitch probably wore the same suit he’d dressed in for work that morning. Jace had changed into a pair of jeans and a long-sleeve Henley.

“Hey, guys,” he greeted as he slid into the booth.

“Hey.” Mitch barely lifted his head from his drink.
