“Up you go, sleepy head.” Jace reached down and picked Avery up.
Avery squeaked as he was lifted into Jace’s arms. Avery had always known that Jace was strong, but his ability to carry Avery was awesome. Avery wrapped his arms around Jace’s neck. “Did you say breakfast?”
“And he speaks!” Jace joked.
Avery groaned into Jace’s neck. He smiled so good that Avery couldn’t resist giving him a small lick.
Jace stumbled before smacking Avery’s behind gently. “Behave, boy.”
“What?” He blinked innocently.
“I knew you would be trouble,” Jace teased. He carried Avery through the master bedroom and into the adjoining bathroom before setting Avery down at the threshold. “Why don’t you use the bathroom and brush your teeth. I put a new toothbrush for you on the counter.”
“K.” He did need to pee.
“Hurry up,” Jace reminded him. “Food.”
Avery closed the bathroom door behind him and hurried to the toilet. Luckily, his erection had started to go down so he only needed to wait a few moments before he could empty his bladder. Once done, he walked to the counter. He looked at himself in the mirror, surprised to see how cute he looked in the kiddie pajamas.
The night before he hadn’t given himself time to think about what he’d been doing. After such a stressful week he’d just needed to unwind. It had been amazing. Everything that Jace had promised. He still wasn’t sure about the whole diaper thing and worried he was going to mess up, but Avery still felt better than he had in years. Maybe in his whole life.
He remembered Jace’s offer to stay there for the day and really wanted to take him up on it. He could afford to take one day off, couldn’t he? He had all semester to come up with the next set of tuition. His rent and all his bills were paid. If he used Jace’s laptop, he could even start his paper.
“Avery? You okay?” Jace knocked on the door.
“Yes!” Avery yelled back. He was going to do it. Picking up the brand-new toothbrush, he had to grin. A blue superhero grinned back at him. He hurried and brushed his teeth, giggling the whole time. He must have taken too long, because after a hard knock, Jace walked in.
“Are you making a mess in here?”
Avery shook his head. Jace sighed before walking over, but he looked happy not frustrated.
“What?” Avery asked.
Chuckling, Jace wet a towel and wiped his face. “I think you got more toothpaste on you than you did in your mouth.”
Feeling playful, Avery stuck out his tongue.
“Oh!” Jace exclaimed. “Someone is in a silly mood.”
Avery held up his arms. “Breakfast,” he demanded. If he could get Jace to continue carrying him, his morning would be close to perfect. He hadn’t gotten to come, so justcloseto perfect, he thought. Then giggled out loud.
“Does my boy want breakfast now?”
Avery bobbed his head up and down. “Hungry.” Could he do it? He remembered saying the word as he was falling asleep. “Please, Daddy.”
“Baby boy,” Jace smiled then picked him up. “Anything for you.” He patted Avery’s bottom as he strolled out of the bathroom and through the master suite.
“Wait! Jared! He’s hungry too.”
“Well, we can’t let Jared starve,” Jace said seriously.
Avery was so happy that Jace was playing along. When he woke, he hadn’t felt little but after brushing his teeth and being carried he was getting back that same carefree feeling as the night before. He wanted more of that.
Jace carried him into the bedroom and over to the unmade bed. He lowered Avery enough to pick up Jared before lifting him back up.
“Thank you, Daddy,” he said as he rubbed his face against Jared.
“Of course, my sweet boy. Now let’s go have some pancakes.”
