I can’t waitto get my husband naked. It’s been wonderful celebrating our marriage with our family and friends, but this is the part I’ve been looking forward to. I missed him terribly last night; I almost gave in and went home.
He hasn’t let me go from the second he met me at the beginning of the aisle, and I haven’t wanted him to. “I can’t wait to see what you’ve got beneath this gorgeous dress, Dimples.” My blood thrums through my veins and my body heats at his words. His hand tightens in mine and the hand at my waist pulls me in close to his body as we share a dance, his hard shaft pressing against my abdomen. I pull my hand out of his to wrap both arms around his neck and his hand drops to my waist, locking around me; making me feel secure, as though he’s never going to let me go.
“Not long now, Husband.”
He runs his nose along mine. “Say it again.”
“Husband.” I raise one eyebrow. He’s been requesting the title since I said ‘I do’ as the sun settled on the horizon and subsequently set.
He pulls away, swiftly taking my hand in his. “That’s it. I’m done. We’re outta here.” I giggle as he pulls me along. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s been feeling this way. He waves over his shoulder, calling out to our small number of guests. “Thank you for coming. We’re heading out now.”
I try to pull him to a stop, because really, we need to thank everyone properly. Cheers rise, filling the intimate space. I guess they don’t care if we skip out, but I still tug on his hand. “I’d like to say thank you properly before we leave.”
Max sighs and we spin around to face our friends and family. He wraps his arm around my back, the heat from his hand searing my hip, and our guests quieten down.
“Thank you, everyone, for celebrating with us tonight. I especially want to thank all of my girls who helped put this beautiful day together with very short notice.” I glance at Max and then back to the people who love and support us. “We didn’t want to waste time. Life’s far too short to wait and we appreciate that you could all make yourselves available to bear witness to our special promises with minimal notice.” I swallow down the lump that’s forming in my throat.
“To Max’s family and friends. Thank you for openly welcoming me into your lives. I love you guys.” Max’s mom looks close to tears, and I don’t want to cry, so I glance away, toward my family. Mynewfamily. “I know we haven’t known each other long, but thank you for your patience with me as we navigated our new relationship.”
Simone and Rhonda had to get back toShelter, which meant they couldn’t stay for the reception, but I was overjoyed they made it today. Everyone lines up to wish us goodbye, patiently waiting to hug us both.
Martin holds on extra tight as he whispers, “I’m so proud to have you as my daughter, Molly. I wish I could take credit for how you’ve grown into such an incredible young woman, but that’s all you and Nicole. Thank you for allowing me to play a role in today.”
My throat clogs and I blink to keep the tears his words brought forth at bay. I return his squeeze, then pull back with a shaky smile. “Thanks, Dad.” His eyes widen. “For everything. We appreciate it.” He returns my shaky smile with one of his own.
“It’s been my pleasure.” He tips his chin over my shoulder. “I think your husband’s growing impatient. You’d better go.”
Twisting to glance over my shoulder, my husband’s watching our exchange. “I’d better. See you soon.” I give his hand one last squeeze and then turn toward my husband, my everything. “Ready, Husband?”
His grin is swift and full. “Absolutely, Wife.”
We step out into the cool night air to make the short walk along the wooden boardwalk to our room for the weekend. We opted to spend tonight and the weekend in the hotel overlooking the ocean instead of going on a honeymoon. I didn’t want to miss my volunteer evenings atShelterand this way, Max only had to close his workshop for this afternoon and tomorrow. It seemed like an unnecessary expense to spend money on a lavish holiday when all we need is each other.
Max draws me to a stop halfway along the boardwalk, bringing me around to face him. Here, beneath the moonlight, he cups my face gently in his large hands and lays the gentlest kiss to my lips. “I love you so much, Molly. Today’s been the second-best day of my life,” he whispers, his lips brushing mine with each word. I pull back slightly, confused why today is the second-best day of his life. It’s the best day of mine. He must read the question in my eyes, because he explains, “The very best day of my life was the day I arrived at work to find you sleeping in your car. If not forthatday, I wouldn’t havethisday.”
My heart expands, sending warmth through my entire body. My smile is possibly the biggest it’s ever been. “Well, that makes today the second-best day of my life, too.”
Our lips meet in a heady kiss as our tongues explore and taste each other. I’m certain he can taste the champagne I enjoyed tonight, just as I can taste the whiskey he’s been drinking. His hand slides beneath the fall of my hair to cup my head, using his hold to direct my mouth exactly where he wants it. I sigh into the kiss as he deepens it, pressing his thick cock against my pelvis. We draw back slightly, sucking in much needed oxygen.
“As much as I could happily take you here, sex in the sand dunes doesn’t appeal after spending days eradicating sand from my ass and jeans after our last time.” He drops his forehead to mine as we chuckle.
“Well, we can’t have that. Let’s go.” I collect his hand in mine and we hurry, side by side, to our room.
Max collected our keycard and dropped off our bags before the ceremony, meaning we don’t need to check in and can head straight to our room without interruption. He opens the door, then lifts me into his arms to carry me across the threshold. As we enter the room, his kiss is passionate, just as it always is, but there’s something more. A deeper connection and sense of belonging that wasn’t there before today. “I need to make love to my wife,” he whispers against my lips, his eyes especially dark and inviting.
Stepping further inside, the door latches closed behind him, and he flicks the lock, then carries me into the center of the stunning room. My gaze wanders around the space in amazement. Tiny candles cover every surface, shedding their flickering light across the walls, while rose petals cover the large rug centered over the teak wooden floor beneath the enormous bed. I’m pretty sure we won’t need all that space because I won’t want any space between my husband and me. “This looks beautiful.” I glance back at Max. “Thank you for making this truly special.”
“You’re most welcome, Dimples.” He brushes his nose along the side of mine, finishing in a lingering kiss. I tighten my hold around his neck, keeping his lips locked with mine until the need to take a breath becomes too much.
Max releases my legs and slowly slides me down his firm body and I enjoy the feel of every hard inch of his body against mine. He cups my face reverently and continues our kiss from before, licking into my mouth, sending fire to my belly and making my beautiful lace panties soaked. His hands slowly trace down my neck, across my collarbones and down over my puckered nipples, sending goosebumps skittering across my heated skin.
He draws back slightly and our eyes lock together. “You stole my breath when I saw you crest the dune. You are stunning on an ordinary day. Today … today you are beyond spectacular.” He takes a half-step back and his eyes lazily skate down my body. “This dress is incredible on you.” His eyes slide up to my hair. “Your hair is gorgeous, your makeup … everything is perfect.” He glides his hands from my shoulders, down my arms, over the lace cuffs around my biceps, and threads his fingers through mine. He lifts my hands away from my body, holding them out as his eyes peruse me. “I’ve gotta be the luckiest man alive to have you by my side.”
Can a heart actually melt?
Because I fear mine is going to end up in a puddle on the floor with his beautiful words and his genuine compliments. I move back into his space, pressing my body to his. “I’m the lucky one, Max. You’re the best man a girl could ever ask for.”
