I rustled up the covers, watching as she removed her shirt before she snuggled underneath my sheets. I slid in next to her, laying on my back and she placed her head on my chest as I wrapped my arm around her shoulder. Her curls tickled my chest, but I wasn’t about to move her anytime soon.

She traced circles on my stomach, sighing. “I know it wasn’t a lot of time, but I missed you.”

“I missed you too. Anytime you’re away from me is too long.”

She hummed, burying her head further into my chest.

“I’m sorry I didn’t let you kill Dimitri.”

She kissed my chest. “Me too.”

“How about you tell me everything you planned to do to him? Every bloody, gruesome moment.”

Dani looked up at me and blinked. “Really?”

“Mhmm.”

She narrowed her eyes at me. I saw shadows swirl in her irises but there was a glimmer of light along with it. “Can I tell you every torturous thing I plan to do to Morgan and Ariel as well?”
