She pulled out a few clothing items and placed them on top of the wooden dresser. Dani gave me a knowing look and before I could speak, she dropped her towel. I groaned and brought my knees up burying my head in my hands.

She started to get dressed and I, not wanting to miss a thing, watched her. She kept me in her sight by looking at me out of the corner of her eye. “I thought we were talking about all that as a group.”

I shrugged. “Yeah, I know, but I didn’t know if you wanted to talk about anything right now.”

“Hmm…Isabel came to see him when we got here, she told him I was back. So, it makes sense as to why he wasn’t all that surprised to see me.”

“So, what he’s just been waiting for you to show up?”

“I wouldn’t doubt it.” She picked at invisible dust on the headboard. “Don’t get all jealous.”

“I’m not.” I placed my hand under her chin and turned her face to look at me.

“Remember I ended up in bed with you, having many many orgasms, so be happy and maybe a little smug.” She shoved my hand away and kissed me, pushing the covers that were over my lap down and kicked her leg over so that she was straddling me. “Dimitri was a means to an end.”

She pushed her hair back over her shoulder. “He knew about the plan to infiltrate Heaven’s Gate, not enough to be involved in the taking over part, but enough to have a stake in the reward if I’d gone through with what she wanted from me.”

“And what about now? Does he have any idea what the plan is?”

“I don’t think so. She’s been busy with her experiments, but everyone including Dimitri just loves to throw my connection with her in my face and how strong I am. Like they are mutually exclusive.”

“Maybe it is,” I sighed, not wanting to think about falling down into that dark rabbit hole again.

She hummed, stuffing her face into my neck. “Can I be done answeringquestions for now? Until we have everyone here.”

I laughed. “Sure, whatever you want.”
