Reese slammed his chair back onto the ground. “I’m sorry, please explain.”

“You’re exaggerating, Ellie, ugh, it was not that dramatic.”

Elise gave her a knowing look. “Oh, right because every establishment just enjoys a huge snake in their building.”

Beetee raised her lilac eyes to the ceiling. “Not my proudest moment.”

Dani pushed away from the table as well, placing both her hands on the edge of the wood. “Are we going to get any elaborate details?”

Beetee waved her hands. “Nope. Not today.”

“Just know that the first time I met her, she was naked, shaking and getting reprimanded about club rules. There aren’t many, but not letting your anchoring tattoo loose is one of them.” Elise stuck her tongue out at the pink haired demon and started to walk out of the room. “Oh, yeah, we leave tonight, so I’d say get your shit together before we leave.”

The rest of us followed after her, but Dani caught my arm before I could make it to the stairs.

“You really want to come?” she asked, some of her smaller curls falling into her face. She casually brushed them back before I had the instinct to do so myself.

“Yes, Dani, is that so hard to believe?”

One corner of her mouth lifted in a half-smile. “Not at all.” She reached out and grazed her index finger along the front of my shirt. “You are going to change though. I prefer something black and tight. Those biceps of yours deserve some recognition.”

I caught her hand, letting my fingers intertwine with hers for a moment. “There’s a dress code?”

She didn’t yank her hand away from me, but she did move her hand up my arm, stepping closer to me. “Not a dress code, but it’s kind of like an unspoken rule to dress a certain way, but no one is going to stop you otherwise.”

I looked down at her mouth, then back up at her eyes. Her brown irises were beautiful in this way that had me wanting to stare at her for longer than she’d likely allowed for. “And what are you planning on wearing?” I questioned, trying to sound like I would be fine with not knowing, wheninside I was more than eager.

She gave me a mischievously cheeky smile. “Oh, nothing special.”

“I highly doubt that’s true.”

Dani let out a small laugh. “Don’t worry, it will still give off bad girl vibes.”

I stepped closer to her, so that she had to tilt her head up more than normal to look at me. Her scent wrapped around me as I brought my hand to her chin and let my thumb skate over her skin. Skin that was flushed an hour and a half ago from the orgasm I pulled out of her with my mouth and fingers. “And here I thought you liked being a good girl.”

Her sharp intake of breath wasn’t missed and the way she blinked away, the quick way her eyes started to glaze over, had me smirking in victory. She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth and stood on the tips of her toes. “I like to think that’s just for you.” She raised one of her dark eyebrows, before she ghosted her lips over mine and lightly shoved me back. I watched her walk towards the stairs as I caught my breath for a moment before I walked up the stairs as well.

Reese readjusted his black denim jacket for the sixth time as we stood in the lounge area waiting on the girls. I slapped his hand away, getting up from the couch and crossing my arms over my chest. Beetee had given us some clothes to change into that she thought we’d be comfortable in while at Leviathan. She’d given me exactly what Dani had suggested: a black shirt that was tight around my arms, but I did have to admit that it was flattering. She paired it with gray pants and Reese’s outfit was identical except she’d given him a denim jacket which he’d uncuffed the sleeves and rolled them up to his elbows.

“Where are they?” He asked, for the third time.

“Like I told you last time. I don’t know. Still getting ready.”

He leaned back onto the couch, resting his head against it and closed his eyes. “You are going to be able to focus tonight, correct?”

“I thought we already had this discussion about my priorities,” I said in a warning tone, really not in the mood to have this conversation again.

Reese popped one of his eyes open. “That’s not what I meant.”

“Okay, well then whatdoyou mean?”

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe the fact that we are going to a demon club with the girl who has you so severely whipped you canhardly see it.”

I propped my arm up against the wall. “I’m not whipped.”

Reese let out a belly laugh. “Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Nick the Dick. See how far that shit gets you. Just don’t go all feral if some guy tries to hit on her, keep your shit together.”

“Whatever. You keepyourshit together. I’m surprised you’re this calm about going to a demon club in the first place.”
