My eyes widened in surprise—it was Catch’s mother. The resemblance was unmistakable.

“It’s so lovely to finally meet you in person, dear,” she said warmly, pulling me into a heartfelt embrace.

“Mrs. Rizzo, it’s wonderful to meet you too,” I replied, my voice tinged with awe.

She stepped back with a gracious smile. “Please, call me Laurena.”

I smiled. “Sure.”

“Is Callum still here?” She glanced over my shoulder.

I swallowed past the lump in my throat. Shit, they heard me.

“Callum isn’t here,” I stated.

“Technically it’s bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony,” Laurena affirmed.

Clearing my throat, I said, “He didn’t see me.” My heart slammed against my ribcage. This was so embarrassing. Our mothers heard me and my fiancé in the throes of passion.

My mother and Laurena glanced at each other and burst into laughter.

“Oh, dear we heard you scream out his name,” Laurena stated.

If I could crawl under a rock, I would. “He wore a blindfold.”

Laurena wiggled her hips and waved her fingers. “I’ve been there. I’m sure your mom has too. Having fun times with our husbands is nice. Nothing’s wrong with that. Isn’t that right?” she smiled at my mom.

‘That’s right, Laurena.” Mom shimmied her shoulders.

“It’s time to get you ready, Bianca. Eat breakfast because you won’t eat again until the reception.”

“Right, and the seamstress and glam team will arrive soon,” Laurena added.

I was dressed in a tiny black tank with the words the bride’s big day scrawled across the front in gold letters. The black shorts clung to my ass as I settled into one of the chairs at the long dining table.

It felt like I blinked, and the room was teeming with people. The seamstress waved me over.

“Hello Bianca, my name is Mila. I can make quick alterations to any dress you choose in record time.”

“That’s great,” I stated.

Simone, Asia, and Tori appeared at my side.

“I’ll finish setting up. Let me know if you need anything.” She grinned.

“Thanks Mila. I will.”

“This is so fun,” Asia beamed.

She loved clothes so of course she thought this part of the morning was amazing. Simone chomped on chucks of cantaloupes. “I’m curious to see what dress you pick.”

“Me too.” Tori sipped a Bloody Mary.

I bumped Tori’s shoulder. “Rough night?”

The biggest smile lifted her cheeks. “Last night was mind blowing.”

I flipped through the dresses. “You took advantage of your wounded man?”
